摘要： A dual band (s-band 2-4 GHz, x-band 8-12 GHz) active radar reflector installation is provided. The installation comprises a radome which houses a means for receiving an incoming s-band radar signal 32; an amplifier for amplifying the received s-band signal 44; means for transmitting the amplified s-band signal 34; means for receiving an incoming x-band radar signal 36; an amplifier for amplifying the received x-band signal 46 and means for transmitting the amplified x-band signal 38. Each of the means for receiving and transmitting are located within the radome. The s-band receive and transmit antennas may be patch antennas (see Figure 3).

A playback head (not shown) mounted on a carriage supported on wheels from the frame 2 may be moved along the lower side of the blocks by means of a hand wheel 11. The head may scan two tracks on the tapes, the second track being used, for example, to record sounds e.g. when studying a language. A piece of foam is preferaby provided between each block and its length of tape to press the tape against the head, and this pressure may be assisted by suction applied to the head. Each block may be provided with slots into which a card bearing visual information and a card bearing a length of magnetic tape may be inserted, Fig. 5 (not shown). When not in use the blocks may be stored in a spring-loaded magazine arranged so that only the top block may be extracted, Fig. 4 (not shown).

摘要： The present invention provides divided-end artificial limbs and methods for making divided-end artificial limbs that are inexpensive, simple, and customizable. A limb is formed by dividing an end of an elongated shaft member into extending prongs that are shaped into custom lengths and curvatures. Furthermore, the method of the present invention provides affixing a sole plate to the limb, reinforcement of the prongs by nesting additional prongs within the elongated shaft member, dividing the proximal end of the shaft member into circumferentially spaced-apart fingers, and dividing a midsection of the shaft member into circumferentially spaced-apart flexing vanes. The present invention also provides that the prongs may be further modified by division into toe and heel extensions or by wrapping a prong around another prong to form a sole. Methods of reducing stress concentration using bolts and stress relief holes in these limbs are also presented.

摘要： Film winding between exposures in a photographic camera is interrupted and/or braked as a function of film velocity. The camera uses velocity in a control mechanism that stops the winding motor as a function of the velocity in response to detection of a film perforation. The function acts on a time interval between sensing a perforation and stopping the motor or applying a brake. The perforation detector and the velocity sensor use a single sensing element that generates first and second signals at the respective leading and trailing edges of a perforation. The time interval between the first and second signals is indicative of film velocity, and is used to determine the stopping function preferably in accordance with a predetermined look-up table. The control then selects an appropriate time interval between sensing a respective one of the perforations and stopping said motor. A brake also may be applied for stopping film movement, and the control applies the brake as a function of the velocity.

摘要： A beverage preparation capsule containing a beverage preparation ingredient, having a body with side walls formed from one or more substantially air- and liquid-impermeable sheet materials defining a chamber containing a beverage preparation ingredient and further defining an outlet channel having an upstream end in fluid communication with the chamber for escape of beverage from the chamber. At least a region of the outlet channel is filled by a filtration material for filtering the beverage escaping from the chamber. Also provided is a clamp assembly for preparing a beverage from such a capsule, the clamp assembly comprising two or more clamp members, wherein an inner wall of at least one of the clamp members comprises a concave base surface for receiving the capsule and one or more pressure pads projecting from the concave base surface for selectively constricting a region of the capsule. Also provided are a beverage preparation apparatus and system comprising the clamp assembly, and a method of preparing a beverage from the apparatus.
