摘要： Classifier for communication device. A communication device includes a classifier and a number of PHY (physical layer) receivers communicatively coupled thereto that enable the communication device to process various received signal types. Each of the PHY receivers is operable to perform pre-processing of a received frame (or packet) of data and to calculate a confidence level indicating whether the received frame is intended for that particular PHY receiver; this pre-processing does not involve processing (e.g., demodulation and/or decoding) of the received frame. Those PHY receivers having sufficiently high confidence levels assert claims to the classifier for the received frame. The classifier is operable to arbitrate between competing claims by 2 or more PHY receivers and to ensure that the received frame is provided to the PHY receiver for which it is intended.

摘要： A radio frequency (RF) transmitter includes a digital radio processor and a baseband processor. A complex analog-to-digital converter (ADC) within the radio processor provides an analog interface to the baseband processor to receive an analog complex modulated baseband signal and convert the analog complex modulated baseband signal to a digital complex modulated baseband signal. A demodulator within the radio processor demodulates the digital complex modulated baseband signal to recreate the original transmit digital data as a demodulated digital signal. The demodulated digital signal is processed by a digital processor in the radio processor to mitigate the effects of various imperfections in the radio processor circuitry.

摘要： A method for adjusting automatic gain control of a radio receiver begins by determining power level of a radio frequency (RF) signal received by the radio receiver to produce a determined power level. The method then continues by comparing the determined power level with a plurality of power thresholds to determine whether an automatic gain adjustment is needed. The method then continues, when the automatic gain adjustment is needed, by determining, from the comparing the determined power level with the plurality of power thresholds, a sign of the automatic gain adjustment. The method continues by determining, from the comparing the determined power level with the plurality of power thresholds, a magnitude of the automatic gain adjustment. The method continues by addressing a gain adjustment look up table for at least a portion of the radio receiver based on the magnitude to produce a gain setting. The method then continues by adjusting the automatic gain of the radio receiver based on the sign of the automatic gain adjustment and the gain setting.

The measured amplitude and/or phase may be checked to determine if it lies within a range of a reference amplitude and/or phase respectively. An amplitude and/or phase counter may be incremented if the measured amplitude and/or phase lies outside the range of the reference amplitude and/or phase respectively. A confidence level value of a cyclic redundancy check (CRC) for at least a portion of the phase shift keyed section of the frame may be determined based on a determined value of the incremented amplitude and/or phase counter.
