    • A carcass structure (3) is manufactured on a building drum (17) and subsequently transferred to a primary drum (15). Simultaneously, a belt structure (4) comprising a resistant insert (11) of the "zero-degree" type is made on an auxiliary drum (19). An annular transfer device (23) provided with magnetic inserts (27) integrated into grip sectors (25) or into an expandable bladder (26) picks the belt structure (4) up to transfer it onto the primary drum (15) carrying the carcass structure (3). The magnetic inserts (27) perform stabilisation of the belt structure (4) avoiding structural deformations being produced thereon also in the absence of a tread band (5) or of additional resistant layers having crossed cords. The tread band (5) can be then made through spiralling of a continuous elongated element (12) directly on the belt structure (4) already associated with the carcass structure (3).

    • A robotized arm (38a, 38b) drives in rotation a drum (15) carrying a tyre (2) being processed and conveniently moves it in front of a delivery nozzle (23) supplying a continuous elongated element of elastomer material in order to form a tyre component (5a, 5b). The delivery nozzle (23) is connected through at least one selecting valve (25) with two or more extruders (19, 20, 47) each designed to supply a respective blend. The selecting valve (25) connects the delivery nozzle (23) with the outlet of one of the extruders, breaking communication between the nozzle and the other extruders. The outlets of the non-active extruders can be connected with at least one outlet duct. It is thus possible to replace the type of blend used for manufacturing the tyre component without the article of manufacture having to be moved away from the delivery nozzle (23).
