    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved electrowetting display. SOLUTION: A display apparatus comprises a plurality of electrofluidic chromatophore (EFC) pixel cells, a circuit board and a display controller (CTL). The EFC pixel cell comprises (A) a fluid holder, which is used for holding a polar fluid and a non-polar fluid different in display properties and can allow the polar fluid and the non-polar fluid to move between a fluid reservoir having a narrow shape and a channel having a wide shape, and (B) two pixel terminals for supplying the supply voltage to be applied to the channel so that the polar fluid is moved to change a cell display property or the polar fluid is not moved. The circuit board comprises (A) a switching circuit (SWC) to be connected to one of the two pixel terminals to generate the supply voltage, (B) row and column electrodes to be connected to the SWC, and (C) a driver for charging the row and the column electrodes to actuate the SWC. The CTL comprises a state reference table of the current pixel cell display property of each pixel cell and controls the driver so that an electric charge calculated as a function of a new and an old pixel cells display property by using input image information is supplied to the pixel cell.
