    • A filling up process is disclosed for water-proofing engineering objects buried in the ground. In a first embodiment, an aqueous solution of non-polluting, water-soluble polyvalent metals salts is led onto or into the engineering object and if required any excess of aqueous metal salt solution is removed. In a second embodiment, a possibly additive-containing, aqueous sodium water glass solution or aqueous silicic acid sol with a pH value from 1 to 9 is supplied to the engineering object. The process has the following characteristics: (a) the viscosity of the aqueous solution of polyvalent metal salts is set from 10 to 1,000 mPa.s, preferably from 20 to 200 mPa.s, by admixture of water-soluble, non-ionic linear polymers; (b) as solution of water-soluble polyvalent metal salts a solution of said salts saturated at 35-45 DEG C is used; (c) an amount of alkali carbonate and/or alkali hydrogenated carbonate and/or if required carbon dioxide that does not cause any sedimentation is added to the solution of water-soluble polyvalent metal salts; (d) a previously prepared, fine aqueous suspension is added to the solution of water-soluble polyvalent metal salts and/or a fine suspension is generated in the solution itself; or (e) methods (a) to (d) may be combined.
