    • A protective switch having an actuation side. The protective switch includes a base having walls, a pivot shaft connected to the walls of the base, and a switching rocker pivotal on the pivot shaft to be pivotally seated on the base. The switching rocker includes two lever arms for switching the protective switch on and off. A housing is placed on the base and protectively surrounds the switching rocker. A housing cover is located on the actuation side of the protective switch and protectively covers the switching rocker. The housing cover includes an opening therethrough. A plurality of hinges are each disposed on a respective lever arm of the switching rocker. An actuation attachment extends through the opening of the housing cover and is modularly connected to the switching rocker by the hinges for pivoting the switching rocker. The actuation attachment is selected from a kit composed of at least one switch button longitudinally displaceable in the housing cover and pivotally connected with one of the lever arms, and a switch cap rotatably movable relative to the pivot shaft and rigidly connected with the two lever arms of the switching rocker. The at least one switch member and the switch cap are interchangeable.

    • A housing for electrical equipment, for insertion into an installation opening of a switching panel, includes a housing body which can be pushed through the installation opening in an insertion direction and a covering wall connected to the housing body which extends generally transversely to the insertion direction. The covering wall includes a collar which projects outwardly beyond the housing body in a direction which is transverse to the insertion direction, such that the collar limits insertion of the housing body into the opening. A plurality of lugs are connected to the housing body, and each of the lugs has a free end and is resiliently biased toward an initial position relative to the housing body. The housing body has a pair of side walls, and each of the pair of side walls supports an end of at least one corresponding one of the plurality of lugs at an acute angle thereto. Each free end extends to a location which is adjacent to the collar of the covering wall. Each of the lugs has a toothed detent surface in the vicinity of its free end for securing the housing body within the installation opening. Each of the plurality of lugs has a supporting bar which supports a supporting end, and the supporting bar extends from the free end inwardly toward a respective one of the pair of side walls. Each supporting end is resiliently engageable with an adjacent one of the pair of side walls when the housing body is in the installed position.

    • A safety door lock for a door of an electrical appliance includes a longitudinally displaceable detent bolt mounted in a door of an appliance, a door lock housing having an opening receiving the free end of the detent bolt, and a longitudinally displaceable switching slide that having a stub end adapted to engage with the free end of the detent bolt. After engagement, further longitudinal displacement of the detent bolt causes movement of the switching slide to its "on" position. A biasing mechanism urges the switching slide toward an "off" position in which a detent mechanism latches the detent bolt in a locking position upon insertion of the detent bolt in the door lock housing. The detent mechanism includes a releasable locking latch which clamps the switching slide in the "on" position. The locking latch has a first portion which, in the "on" position of the switching slide, engages the detent bolt to retain the detent bolt within the door lock housing, and has a second portion which, in the "off" position of the switching slide, engages the switching slide to retain the switching slide against longitudinal movement toward the "on" position.

    • A manually operated two-pole excess-current protective circuit breaker includes a bimetal control for a switching latch serving both contact bridges. In case of an excess current, the circuit breaker is tripped by a switching latch actuated by the bimetal by virtue of its heat-caused deformation. The circuit breaker unit is provided with a plug-in auxiliary tripping unit having a solenoid-actuated plunger extending into the circuit breaker housing. The plunger moves codirectionally with the working end of the bimetal and cooperates with the switching latch of the circuit breaker. The plunger may assume an actuating position and a withdrawn position dependent upon whether the solenoid is in an energized or a de-energized state and the auxiliary tripping unit may serve as a zero-voltage tripper or as an excess-current tripper dependent upon its structural design which determines the relationship of the plunger positions to the states of solenoid energization.
