    • A fuel tank comprising a filler tube, a communication passage, a charcoal canister, a cover member, a first magnetic member, and a second magnetic member along with the body of the tank. The filler tube is mounted at the top of the body of the tank. The canister is installed inside the communication passage connected with the filler tube. The cover member covers the top of the filler tube. The first magnetic member is disposed inside the filler tube and has a valve portion which opens and closes the communication passage. The second magnetic member is disposed outside the filler tube, and is moved when the cover member is opened or closed. The magnetic force produced by the second magnetic member can move the first magnetic member.

    • In the evaporated fuel control system according to this invention, a plurality of evaporator lines that connect the fuel tank and the engine are provided with two canisters, that is, a first canister installed in the first evaporator line used only during fuel filling and a second canister installed in the second evaporator line. These two canisters are controlled in such a way that the first canister is communicated with the fuel tank only during fuel filling and that only when the vapor fuel can be purged into the engine, the first canister is communicated with the engine. This construction prevents the vapor fuel in the tank from leaking out into the open air when the fuel is supplied into the fuel tank. It also allows the evaporated fuel to be recovered for reuse. This construction also assures safety in the event of an accident or system failure. Furthermore, it is possible to control the first canister in the first evaporator line in such a manner as to minimize deterioration of drivability and exhaust emission.

    • Fuel reservoir apparatus can maintain and control pressure within a fuel tank at a low level during an operation of an engine, and also can prevent excessive refuelling. The fuel reservoir apparatus includes the fuel tank, a canister, a fuel vapor passage, a positive pressure valve, a solenoid valve, and a closure valve. The fuel tank stores liquid fuel to be supplied to the engine of an automobile. The canister can adsorb the fuel vapor. The fuel vapor passage connects the fuel tank to the canister. The positive pressure valve is provided in the fuel vapor passage for controlling pressure within the fuel tank, using a spring force. The solenoid valve is provided in the fuel vapor passage and adapted for opening during the operation of the engine to flow the fuel vapor towards the canister. The closure valve is provided in the fuel vapor passage for closing the fuel vapor passage when fuel is supplied to the fuel tank.

    • The fuel cutoff valve is provided which includes a case member having an outlet opening leading to a canister, and a float member disposed within the case member. The float member is provided including a valve which has a first annular seal member sealing the periphery of the outlet opening and a second annular seal member having a smaller diameter than that of the outlet opening, and a float body vertically below the values.     • A liquid fuel storage device is provided for use with an automobile system including an engine, a fuel tank, and a canister for absorbing fuel vapor during refueling. The device includes an air bag disposed in the fuel tank and constructed and arranged to inflate to occupy a space in the fuel tank in accordance with an amount fuel remaining in the fuel tank. Piping structure communicates the fuel tank with the engine for inflating the air bag by reducing pressure in the fuel tank when the engine is started. An air introduction pipe communicates with the atmosphere and includes a first valve mechanism for introducing air into the air bag and prevents air from escaping from the air bag after inflation thereof. An air emission pipe includes a second valve mechanism, which is opened only in refueling to emit air in the air bag during refueling. The air emission pipe is connected to the canister.
