    • A method of inserting a rigid plastic lining tube into a conduit wherein a rigid plastic tube wound in a flatly folded state around a drum is inserted into a conduit as the plastic tube is pulled out of the drum, comprises the steps of supplying a heated fluid into the conduit so that the heated fluid flows from one end opening of the conduit to the other, and heating the whole of the inner circumferential surface of the plastic tube with this heating fluid flowing through the conduit, to soften the same tube. According to the present invention, the plastic tube can be softened with heat uniformly along the whole length thereof with the plastic tube kept in a drum-wound state, and it can also be maintained in a thermally softened state even while the tube is inserted into the conduit. The insertion of the rigid plastic tube into the conduit can be carried out with a high efficiency. Moreover, even when the conduit has a bent portion at an intermediate part thereof, the plastic tube can be inserted thereinto as it is passed through the bent portion easily.
