According to the invention, said layer of adhesive (20) is arranged on the backsheet (16) in a discontinuous pattern, said pattern of adhesive comprising:

a first area of adhesive (40) arranged in the front portion (F),
a second area of adhesive (42) arranged in the rear portion (R);
a third area of adhesive (45) being arranged on the wings (24);
wherein said pattern of adhesive comprises an adhesive-free area (46) between the first area of adhesive (40) and the second area of adhesive (42), said adhesive-free area (46) longitudinally extending on a length that is greater than or equal to the length of the third area of adhesive (45) with respect to the longitudinal direction (L).

The absorbent core (40) has a first basis weight in the zone out of the cavities (70) and the connecting lines (80) and a second basis weight in the connecting lines (80), the first basis weight being greater than the second basis weight. in the cavities (70). The resulting absorbent assembly (30) may show all together a very good integrity, a very good distribution of fluids and a quick rate of absorption.
