摘要： Cardioprotective pacing is applied to prevent and/or reduce cardiac injury associated with myocardial infarction (MI) and revascularization procedure. Pacing pulses are generated from a pacemaker and delivered through one or more pacing electrodes incorporated onto one or more percutaneous transluminal vascular intervention (PTVI) devices during the revascularization procedure, in one embodiment, at least one pacing electrode is incorporated onto the shaft of a PTVI device to allow the pacing pulses to be delivered to a site remote from an infarcted region where the distal end portion of the PTVI device is placed. In another embodiment at least one pacing electrode is provided over the shaft, either as a sleeve incorporating said at least one pacing electrode or as a stent electrode, wherein said at least one pacing electrode is displaceable along a portion of the shaft.

摘要： Cardioprotective pacing is applied to prevent and/or reduce cardiac injury associated with myocardial infarction (MI) and revascularization procedure. Pacing pulses are generated from a pacemaker and delivered through pacign electrodes incorporated onto percutaneous transluminal vascular intervention (PTVI) devices during the revascularization procedure. Examples of the PTVI devices include a guide catheter, a guide wire, and an angioplasty catheter such as a balloon catheter used in the revascularization procedure. The pacing electrodes are incorporated onto such PTVI devices in various ways.

The use of a subassembly allows for stronger quality control and simpler fabrication of a rapid exchange device. In several embodiments, methods of making a molded guidewire entry port using a mold, often in conjunction with one or more mandrels, are disclosed. Several device embodiments include a separate molded guidewire port as well as molded guidewire ports which are attached, during a molding step, to segments of a catheter.

摘要： A transcatheter method of gathering tissue of a heart valve leaflet may include inserting an elongated catheter assembly (12) to a position adjacent the heart valve leaflet, the catheter assembly including a capture tool (22) moveable between a retracted position and an extended position, a tissue support (40), and a clamping member (30) moveable between an open position and a closed position. The capture tool may be partially retracted to gather tissue of the heart valve leaflet between the tissue support and the clamping member. The clamping member may then be moved from the open position toward the closed position so as to clamp a substantial portion of the gathered tissue of the heart valve leaflet between the tissue support and the clamping member. Subsequently, a clip (55) may be applied from the catheter assembly to the clamped tissue so as to hold the clamped tissue substantially in a gathered configuration.

In some cases, the actuatable junction may be actuatable between a first state and a second state.
