摘要： A meter-base surge protector adapted to be connected between multiple incoming power lines and a neutral line at a meter comprises first and second metal oxide varistors, which are each respectively connected in series to first and second thermal cut-offs and a gas discharge tube. The first and second thermal cut-offs are each connected to separate incoming power lines. The gas discharge tube is also connected to the incoming neutral line. The meter-base surge protector also includes a microcontroller for monitoring and detecting the voltage status at monitoring points within the circuit, or system, for detecting circuit, or system, malfunction. Upon the detection of a malfunction, the microcontroller activates a non-surge protection status indicator.

摘要： A miniature solid state overvoltage protection circuit for use on telephone lines using a solid state circuit arrangement connected between the tip terminal and the ground terminal and another solid state circuit between the ring terminal and the ground terminal. The first current path includes a bi-directional solid state thyristor having two terminals. One terminal of the thyristor is connected to the tip terminal and the other terminal is connected in series with a parallel pair of oppositely polarized semiconductor diodes connected to the ground terminal. A second current path is disposed between the ring terminal and the ground terminal and is identical to the first current path.

摘要： A surge protected broadband power line communication system is provided. The system includes a local module with a base unit and a remote module with an extension unit. Both modules include broadband surge suppressors adapted to be connected to an AC power line. The base and extension units are connected to the surge suppressors and transmit and receive broadband digital signals through the surge suppressors and over the AC power line. The local and remote modules also have RF isolator filters connected to the surge suppressors and surge protected AC outlets connected to the outputs of the isolator filters. The local module is connected to a source of broadband digital signals such as a cable modem. The system makes the cable modem available in every room in a home simply by plugging an extension unit into an outlet located in that room.

摘要： A miniature station overvoltage protection module having a surge protector device and a back-up protector suitable for use on communication lines, includes a hollow housing having a top surface; a pair of line terminals and a ground terminal disposed in the housing top surface, extending inside the hollow housing. A holding bracket affixed to the housing ground terminal disposed within the hollow housing includes first and second conductors and a ground conductor, each of the first and second conductors extends towards one of the pair of line terminals and is in electrically conductive contact therewith; the ground conductor is in electrically conductive contact with the ground terminal. A surge arrester, having at least a pair of electrode terminals and a ground terminal connected to the housing ground terminal. Each one of the pair of surge arrester electrode terminals is in electrically conductive contact with one of the pair of line terminals. Additionally included is a pair of two terminal solid state back-up protection devices, one of the protection devices is disposed between each electrode of the surge arrester and the ground conductor, with one terminal of each being in intimate electrically conductive contact with each one of the surge arrester electrode terminals.
