摘要： The present invention discloses a system and a method for performing routing using location information of an IP terminal in a mobile IP telephony network. When a call is originated from an IP terminal to another subscriber it is checked whether location information of the IP terminal is required for the call. In case location information is required, the location information is added to the call setup data. Then, a destination address is determined on the basis of the call setup data and the location information. Finally, the call is routed to the determined destination address.

摘要： A technique for providing an announcement in a communications network includes setting up a first level communication session in a first network element of the network. A determination is then made that an announcement is to be played to the first network element. An identity of a second network element which is to play the announcement on the first communication session is then sent and after a second level communication session is set up, the second level communication channel parameters are modified in accordance with the transmitted identity. The second network element then plays the announcement to the first network element. The transmitted identity may include an IP address or a port number or a TA. The communication session may include a PDP context. The first network element may include a Mobile Station.

摘要： In a first embodiment, when an Activate PDP Context Request message is forwarded to a Service GPRS Support Node (SGSN), the SGSN creates a Create PDP Context Request message and forwards it to a Gateway GPRS Support Node (GGSN). In response to the Create PDP Context Request forwarded by the SGSN, the GGSN creates a Create PDP Context Response message. When a PDP context is created by the GGSN, the GGSN associates a Globally Unique Charging Identification (GCI) with the PDP context. Then, the Create PDP Context Response including the GCI is forwarded to the SGSN. The GCI is sent from the SGSN to the UE and from the UE to the CSCF. In a second embodiment, the GCI is sent from the SGSN or the GGSN directly to the Call State Control Function (CSCF). Sending the GCI can be performed either autonomously or based on a request from the CSCF. In either embodiment, the CSCF can send the GCI to a second network which performs processing, such as billing, from data collected from call detail records associated with the GCI.

摘要： In a technique for setting up calls in IP mobile networks, when an application level in a mobile station sends a setup message to set up a multimedia call, before sending such a message over the radio interface, the mobile station performs the appropriate procedures to setup the appropriate bearers over the radio interface and in the network to satisfy the call requirements specified by the application level in the setup message. The technique applies to both mobile originated calls and mobile terminated calls, the called mobile station performing the transport level procedures after having received a setup message and before sending a confirmation/call acceptance message back to the calling party. Furthermore, the allocation of radio resources for PDP contexts that will be used to carry the media of a multimedia IP called is delayed so that no radio resources are allocated to the PDP contexts activated before the call control signaling is exchanged. The radio resources are allocated only when the call signaling has been completed and the called party has accepted the call and indicated the call characteristics that it can support. An indication is forwarded from the SGSN to the GGSN advising that no packets are to be sent on the PDP context because there are no radio resources for the PDP context.
