摘要： To form a child seat having relatively deep regulated side walls in a relatively thin folding seat back for a wagon or light van, without changing the hip point of the rear seat passenger, the rear seat is divided into a first wide seat back 3a and a second narrow seat back 3b in such a way as to be foldable forwards separately. A recess seat back portion 5 of the child seat is formed in the portion of the first wide seat back nearest the centre of the vehicle. The seat cushion 4 of the child seat is pivotally mounted at the base of the recess. Two side wall portions 9, 10 of the child seat are formed by a first portion 9 projecting along the edge 5b of the recess nearest the centre of the wide seat back, and by a second projecting portion 10 projecting along the inner edge of the narrow seat back nearest the centre of the vehicle respectively, in such a way that the child seat cushion, can be accommodated in the recessed seat back portion when not used. In an alternative the second side wall portions projects from the free edge of the recess in the wide seat back, adjacent the inner free edge of the narrow seat back [fig.2A not shown]. A head rest may also be mounted on the wide seat back above the child seat back.
