The vascular endoprosthesis further includes first and second coupling elements. The first coupling element extends from the proximal end of the first segment toward the distal end of the second segment, and the second coupling element extends from the distal end of the second segment toward the proximal end of the first segment. The first and second coupling elements cooperate one with another to couple the first and second segments together when the vascular endoprosthesis is in a delivery configuration and to decouple the first and second segments when the vascular endoprosthesis is in a deployed configuration.

摘要： Generally, the present disclosure includes a hybrid segmented endoprosthesis for delivery into a lumen of a body. The hybrid segmented endoprosthesis has different types of segments that are joined together. The segments are typically distinct and distinguishable from each other by each segment having a unique configuration different from at least one other segment. Additionally, the segments can be coupled together by various processes well known for interconnecting the materials of endoprostheses. The segmented endoprosthesis can provide improved deliverability, strength, flexibility, and/or functionality during and after deployment. The use of a segmented endoprosthesis can combine the configurations of multiple small endoprostheses into a standard- or regular-sized endoprosthesis.

摘要： The present invention relates to an endoprosthesis that is expandable from a contracted configuration to an expanded configuration and that includes a plurality of longitudinally adjacent web rings. Each of the web rings is defined by web elements disposed circumferentially around a longitudinal axis, which are adjoined one to the other at junction bends. A first junction bend in a first web ring is coupled to a second junction bend in a second web ring by a connector which includes three or more struts of essentially equal length that extend circumferentially in essentially parallel directions. The struts of the connector are adjoined in sequence by coupling segments that, in one embodiment of the invention, are arcuate in shape. In another configuration, the connector is a flexible connector that is structured to absorb at least some of the axial and torsional stresses applied to the endoprosthesis.

摘要： A support catheter that can puncture a heart septum with a guidewire without buckling and that can access difficult to reach arteries such as carotid or renal arteries from the aorta under difficult circumstances is provided. The support catheter comprises a catheter body having a proximal end, a distal end, and an interior wall surface defining a first lumen extending from the proximal end toward the distal end. A second lumen is disposed between the interior wall surface and an outer surface of the catheter body. A plurality of stiffening members is disposed around the second lumen, the plurality of stiffening members being engageable to selectively stiffen the catheter body. In another configuration, the catheter further comprises a second plurality of stiffening members disposed between the first lumen and the second lumen.

摘要： Disclosed are catheter apparatus (300, 400) and methods for deploying a stent (606, 618, 706) in a bifurcated vessel while minimizing flow problems in the branch vessel. In general, the catheter includes at least one non-compliant inflation structure (302, 402, 710a) for pushing a stent against a vessel wall in a main vessel and a compliant inflation structure (304, 404, 710b) for forming an opening in the stent across an opening in a branch vessel. Ideally, flow reduction caused by the stent is minimized due to the stent opening at the branch vessel. Additionally, other medical devices, such as a guide wire or a second stent (620), may be easily inserted through the opening in the stent into the branch vessel.

摘要： A stent delivery catheter system for accurately positioning a stent in a bifurcated vessel is disclosed. The system includes a catheter having a terminal portion and distal tip that is placed in a main branch of the vessel proximate the bifurcation. A fixed guidewire is attached to distal tip. A port is defined in the terminal portion of the catheter. The port is aligned with an ostium of a side branch of the bifurcated vessel to allow the passage of a stent delivery device, such as a balloon catheter having a stent crimped thereon, into the side branch. Radiopaque bands are positioned on opposite ends of the port. A positioning balloon is included on a surface of the catheter opposite the port and is selectively inflatable to position the radiopaque bands adjacent the side branch ostium. The radiopaque bands are referenced to place the stent proximate the side branch ostium.
