摘要： Disclosed herein is a method of electrochemically coating nanoparticles, the method comprising (i) providing a working electrode, a counter electrode, and a liquid carrier medium in contact with the working electrode, the liquid carrier medium comprising: (a) the nanoparticles, wherein the nanoparticles comprise a first material; (b) ions of a metal dissolved in the liquid carrier medium; (ii) applying a potential between the working electrode and the counter electrode, such that, at the working electrode, the ions of the metal are reduced and there is a bulk deposition of the elemental metal onto the nanoparticles. Nanoparticles made in accordance with this method are also described. An apparatus for carrying out the method is also described.

摘要： The present invention provides an electrochemical sensor and method for detecting and quantify disulphides present in a sample. The present invention also provides a kit for detecting and quantifying disulphides in a sample. The present invention makes use of a mediator compound, such as a bromide or an iodide, which is capable of being converted into an oxidised form at the working electrode which then reacts with any disulphides present in the sample to regenerate the mediator.

The method generally involves assessing the presence and/or properties of the particles in a sample from electrochemical responses yielded by the oxidative (or reductive) consumption/destruction of particles as they collide with a working electrode. In particular, the present invention allows identifying, quantifying, and characterising of particles in a sample via the electro-oxidation of particles which collide with working electrodes operating at a suitable potential difference.

A portable creel provides flexibility for carpet manufactures in that operators can pre-load portable creels with yarn packages for future runs and move them into position when needed. In one aspect, the portable creel comprises an outer frame and a movable inner frame. The inner frame is configured to hold a plurality of yarn packages and the outer frame comprises a plurality of tubes configured to direct the yarn from the yarn packages to a header. The header, in turn, directs the yarn from the portable creel to specific portions of a tufting machine.
