    • Disclosed is a pneumatically operated active vibration damping device including an elastic oscillating plate partially define a pressure receiving chamber formed on one side thereof and an oscillating air chamber formed on the other side thereof, wherein the elastic oscillating plate is oscillated due to a periodic change of the air pressure generated in the oscillating air chamber so as to exhibit active vibration damping effect of the device, and wherein at least one of the pressure receiving chamber and the oscillating air chamber undergoes a static pressure change so as to change a spring stiffness of the elastic oscillating plate. Thus, the device is capable of changing its active vibration damping characteristics based on the oscillation of the elastic oscillating plate.

    • A pneumatically controlled vibration damper that includes: an elastic connector disposed between and secured to a mounting member and a mass member for elastically connecting the mass member to the mounting member, and partially defining a working air chamber closed from an external area; an air passage connected to the working air chamber for regulating an air pressure in the working air chamber from the external area; and a static pressure-regulating system operable for substantially statically regulating the air pressure in the working air chamber via the air passage, so as to induce a substantially static elastic deformation of the elastic connector for changing a spring characteristic of the elastic connector.

    • A fluid-filled cylindrical vibration-damping device wherein an inner and an outer sleeve are elastically connected together at their axially upper ends by an elastic body, at their axially lower ends by a flexible layer, and at their axially intermediate portions by a flexible partition. A pressure-receiving chamber partially defined by the elastic body and an equilibrium chamber partially defined by the flexible layer are disposed on opposite sides of the flexible partition, and are held in fluid communication through an orifice passage defined by an orifice defining member attached to an axially intermediate portion of an inner circumferential surface of the outer sleeve. The flexible partition includes a cylindrical portion extending axially upwardly from an inner peripheral portion of the orifice defining member and an annular curved portion extending radially inwardly from the upper end of the cylindrical portion to be fixed to the inner sleeve.
