摘要： A method for implanting a prosthesis centrally within a curved lumen includes loading a prosthesis into a delivery sheath, advancing the sheath in a patient towards the curved lumen to place at least the proximal end of the prosthesis within the curved lumen, and centering the proximal end of the prosthesis and/or the distal end of the sheath within the curved lumen. In a first advancing step, the outer catheter containing the inner sheath is advanced together towards the curved lumen to a location proximal of the curved lumen and, in a second advancing step, the inner sheath containing the prosthesis is advanced into the curved lumen to place at least the proximal end within the curved lumen while the outer catheter substantially remains at the location. After centering, the proximal end of the prosthesis is deployed centered within the curved lumen.

The sacroiliac implant is an elongate structure having two cylindrical sections of differing diameters. The implant further has like-handed, but dissimilar pitched threaded sections at the proximal and distal ends thereof to produce compressive forces across the joint. A hollow core traverses the length of the implant. A plurality of apertures or openings are formed through the implant transversely to the longitudinal axis and communicate with the hollow core. Bone graft or a BMP-soaked carrier fill the hollow core. The openings or apertures provide a conductive path of healing for bony ingrowth. Means are provided on the proximal end of the implant for engagement with a tool to drive the implant.

摘要： In a turret mill of the kind in which a doughnut 20 moves with the tool head along a threaded vertical rod 1, a tube 4 is slidably mounted on the rod 1 between end plates 5 and 6 which support a turret 7. The turret 7 can be rotated to bring a series of axially adjustable stop elements 9 into position for contact with the doughnut 20, allowing downward movement of the tool head to be stopped in various quickly selectable positions. Such contact with a stop 9 causes the lower plate 6 to act on a head 3 secured to rod 1, which in turn operates a cutout 17 via a lever 16 to stop vertical feed of the tool head. Upward movement of the doughnut 20 engages the upper plate 5, which acts on the rod 1 via a plunger 25 and lever 26, causing the rod to move downwards. This again operates the cutout 17 to stop the tool head.
