摘要： A method and system for fixed parts of a cellular radio system to exchange capability information with a mobile station of the cellular radio system. The method includes transmitting capability information from the fixed parts of the cellular radio system, and receiving a comparison result at the network element from a mobile station, including a list of matched capability aspects including a higher level aspect and a list of lower level subaspects corresponding to the higher level aspect. The list of matched capability aspects indicates capability information common to the network element and the mobile station.

摘要： A method and an arrangement are disclosed for a mobile station (111) of a cellular radio system to exchange capability information with the fixed parts (101) of the cellular radio system. The mobile station receives (513, 513′) capability information (103) from discussed parts (101) if the cellular radio system and compares (515, 516, 517, 517′ 518, 518′, 519, 520) the received capability information (103) to a piece of capability information (112) describing the capability of the mobile station (111). The mobile station transmits (522, 522′) to the fixed parts (101) of the cellular radio system a comparison result (113) that indicates whether matches occurred between the received capability information (103) and said piece of capability information (112) describing the capability of the mobile station (111).

摘要： A method and an arrangement are provided for indicating the specific use of a packet-switched communication connection between a mobile station and a fixed packet-switched data transmission network. The activation of a new packet-switched communication connection involves the step of transmitting an activation request message with a service type indicator field for which a set of service type indicator values have been defined. An additional step is performed for transmitting within the activation request message an indicator value indicating the specific use, in more detail than the service type indicator values, of the packet-switched communication connection the activation of which is requested with the activation request message.
