    • A mobile terminal device for performing multi-carrier communication with a base station device can improve communication quality while reducing the data amount without lowering accuracy of feedback information. In the mobile station device (100), a reception level measuring unit (135) measuring SINR as a reception level for each chunk formed by a plurality of sub-carriers according to a known signal; a control information transmission control unit (160) transmits feedback information (CQI information) based on the communication quality of each chunk to a base station device (200); a relative value calculation unit (150) calculates a relative value of MCS corresponding to the reception level between adjacent chunks from the reception level of each chunk; and a CQI information generation unit (155) generates feedback information (CQI information) from an absolute value of MCS corresponding to the reception level of the reference chunk and a relative value of MCS corresponding to the reception level between the adjacent chunks.

    • In order to perform appropriate reception quality control on each mobile station in a multimedia broadcast/multicast service, a layered coding section 101 encodes input data by dividing the input data into two layers and obtains a first layer code string and a second layer code string. The first layer code string is input to a CRC code addition section 102 and a CRC code for an error inspection is added thereto at every predetermined block. On the other hand, the second layer code string is input to a CRC code addition section 103 and a CRC code for an error inspection is added thereto at every predetermined block. The first layer code string and the second layer code string with the CRC codes added are input to a layered modulation section 104 and the layered modulation section 104 modulates a plurality of code strings coded by being divided into a plurality of layers in such away that error rates differ hierarchically among the plurality of code strings and a radio section 105 sends the modulated symbol.

    • An error correction coding apparatus which improves the throughput of the whole system, while minimizing the increase of the circuit size and the amount of processing operation of the whole apparatus. In this apparatus, a data divider 132 divides transmission data into a plurality of blocks to generate n divided blocks. The n error correction coders out of N error correction coders 134 carry out an error correction coding on each of the n divided blocks in units of block, and outputs the divided blocks. A data concatenator 136 concatenates the n code blocks that have been error-correction-coded in units of block. A division/concatenation controller 138 controls at least one of data divider 132 and data concatenator 136 so that the division of the transmission data and the concatenation of the code blocks are carried out in units of bit.
