    • A boiling water reactor has a reactor pressure vessel and a through piping. The reactor pressure vessel includes a main body trunk and an openable upper lid covering an upper open end of the main body trunk from above. The through piping penetrates lateral side of the main body trunk and has an opening section at a same level with or higher than the upper open end of the main body trunk in the reactor pressure vessel. The through piping may be connected to the sump arranged outside the reactor pressure vessel in the dry well. The through piping may be further connected to the suppression pool in the wet well and/or to the water level gauge in the dry well.

    • In one embodiment a relief safety valve driving system that supplies a driving gas by use of a relief safety valve driving unit and thereby opens a relief safety valve provided in a main steam system of a nuclear power plant if an accident or a transient state occurs, for protecting a reactor against pressurization, wherein the relief safety valve driving unit opens the relief safety valve by supplying the driving gas to the relief safety valve by one or more auto-depressurization system actuating signals, among auto-depressurization system actuating signals respectively belonging to three safety segments, or by a relief valve functions actuating signal, and closes the relief safety valve without supplying the driving gas thereto when none of the auto-depressurization system actuating signals and the relief valve functions actuating signal is generated.

    • A feed water heating system for heating a feed water for a power-generating plant having a steam turbine, a condenser and a steam generator, comprises: a steam injector unit for receiving a plurality of bled steams having different pressures extracted from the steam turbine and an effluent water discharged from the condenser to mix the effluent water with the plurality of bled steams to raise the temperature and pressure of a mixture of the effluent water with the plurality of bled steams to deaerate and discharge the temperature and pressure raised mixture. The steam injector unit comprises: a multistage steam injector having a plurality of steam injectors connected in series for receiving one of the plurality of bled steams and a feed water to mix the one of the plurality of bled steams with the feed water to raise the temperature and pressure of a mixture of the one of the plurality of bled steams and the feed water to discharge the temperature and pressure raised mixture; a cylindrical container for housing therein the multistage steam injector; and a jet centrifugal deaerator, provided downstream of the multistage steam injector, for receiving a feed water discharged from the multistage steam injector and the bled steams to apply a centrifugal force to the feed water and the bled steams to deaerate the feed water to spatially separate a deaerated feed water from the bled steams to discharge the deaerated feed water.

    • A reactor containment vessel cooling technology for preventing the cooling capability and structural integrity of a reactor containment vessel cooling system from decreasing by lowering the temperature of water vapor and gases acquired by the reactor containment vessel cooling system is provided. Based on the technology, the present invention provides a reactor containment vessel cooling system that acquires water vapor in a reactor containment vessel by using water vapor pressure in the vessel as a drive force, condenses the acquired water vapor into condensate, and cools the reactor containment vessel with the condensate. The reactor containment vessel cooling system includes a heat exchange pool 21 that is arranged apart from a dry well 15 and a suppression chamber 16 in the reactor containment vessel 10 and stores a medium for cooling water vapor, a heat exchanger 22 that is immersed in the heat exchange pool 21, acquires water vapor from the dry well 15 in the reactor containment vessel 10, and performs heat exchange between the eater vapor and the cooling medium in the heat exchange pool 21 to generate condensate, and a condensate drain pipe 25 that extracts the condensate from the heat exchanger 22 and guides and discharges the condensate toward a reactor pressure vessel 12.
