    • A method for precision aligning of carton blanks having discrete fold lines in the manufacture of product display packages utilizes projecting alignment pins and transparent window blanks having laterally opposed notches. The alignment pins are arranged about the periphery of a carton blank having discrete fold lines and adjacent the inner edges of a formed opening for registration of the carton blank. The transparent window blank, having its pair of opposed notches in alignment with a fold line, is disposed in overlapping relationship over the opening of the carton blank, such that the alignment pins are received within the notches. The cooperation of the alignment pins and notches effectively provides precision alignment of the transparent window blank with the carton blank, for example, with respect to their fold lines and the like.

Thus, there is provided a package made of a first sheet of plastic substantially rigid, self-supporting material, a second sheet of substantially rigid, self-supporting material, joining means joining the sheets together to form a unified composite package, and discrete fold lines in the package including at least a pair of discrete fold lines in the first sheet of material, and wherein the discrete fold lines are disposed and constructed to cooperate to form a walled enclosure when the package is in its setup condition, to form a substantially flat configuration when the package is in its fully collapsed condition, and to be moveable between its setup condition and fully collapsed condition by movement of the walls of the walled enclosure relative to each other so that it can be readily setup and collapsed by hand and by standard packaging machinery.

    • A display container comprises permanent side walls, an end sealable along at least a portion thereof to form a closed bottom wall when the display container is in its set up position, and an open end having a pair of side wall flanges depending from opposing side walls. Each of the side wall flanges has a seal region with at least a portion of one of the seal regions being permanently bonded to the other seal region to form both a closed top wall and a bonded portion extending therefrom to maintain the display container in a permanently sealed condition so that the product placed inside the container is inaccessible from either the top or bottom wall. A method of packaging and incorporating the display container is also provided.

Preferably, the hinge line is provided by a soft crease in the front panel which defines an inturned margin adhesively secured to the rear panel. The file folder is durable, is relatively inexpensive to manufacture and decorate, and affords notations to be made thereon using a variety of writing implements. Several different embodiments of the invention are disclosed.
