    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a body position stabilization pedestal which corresponds to a body type to solve the problem that, when a user lies in bed without a stopper for the leg end, turns itself over to take an unstable body position, lifts the hip or straightens itself toward the head to take a hard kick from the bent knee, and sits up in bed, no strength is transmitted to the legs, and the strength is concentrated only around the abdomen by using the hip as the supporting point to take an unstable position of the lower half body. SOLUTION: This body position stabilization pedestal is a collapsible cubic pedestal made of a foam molding article or a reinforced plastic, wood and the like having one side provided with a stair of step differences, wherein the surfaces of the step differences are furnished with slip stoppers and have a suitable thickness. The pedestal is set on a bed sheet to occupy a space between leg sides and heels, allowing nice touch of the heel to a step to fit the body size so that the user may exercise the legs, turn over to adjust the body position, and raise the upper half of body to prevent bedsores from occurring.     • A process for preparing a hydroxybenzoic acid is herein disclosed which comprises reacting a phenol with an alkali metal compound by the use of an aprotic polar organic solvent as a reaction solvent to form an alkali metal salt of the phenol, and then reacting this alkali metal salt with carbon dioxide to obtain a hydroxybenzoic acid, said process comprising the step of carrying out the reaction under conditions that a molar ratio of the phenol to the total of the alkali metal compound and the aprotic polar organic solvent is larger than 1. Furthermore, the process may contain the steps of precipitating crystals from the reaction solution, separating the solid from the solution to obtain a wet alkali metal salt of the hydroxybenzoic acid, dissolving the wet alkali metal salt in water, and precipitating crystals from the solution by acidification to obtain the hydroxybenzoic acid.
