    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow for trigonometric function calculation, without having to use a function table in the back of a relevant book or the like that has been required conventionally.
      SOLUTION: A plurality of orthogonal parallel lines are drawn vertically and horizontally, at respective regular intervals on a plane plate. One of the intersection points of the parallel lines is determined to be an origin point. Graduations are marked vertically and horizontally, starting from the origin point respectively. A circular arc line with a radius of unit length from the origin point is drawn, and the principles of trigonometric functions can be easily imaged, and the lengths of the opposite side and the adjacent side to the angle can also be read. Since such a consolidation is made into a single sheet of ruler, the ruler is easy to use and convenient to carry.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently take out power in a sterling engine by changing the crank mechanism to a pendulum inversion motion for reducing a frictional resistance the sterling engine requires a seal for performing expansion and contraction, while airtightly maintaining gas inside a cylinder, a piston is loaded by installing the seal, thus a mechanical frictional resistance is required to be minimized; further, since an unbalanced force of side thrust is added with respect to a piston in a crank mechanism, the mechanical frictional resistance is large.
      SOLUTION: The cylinder is formed in a tubular shape of a bending elliptic cavity. A displacer is formed in a bending elliptic tubular shape and is housed inside the cylinder. The displacer performs the pendulum inversion motion inside the cylinder. A fan-shaped output chamber of a fan-shaped and an output lever are provided for taking out the pressure of the gas expanded inside the cylinder as the power. The output lever is housed inside the fan-shaped output chamber and performs the pendulum inversion motion.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an external combustion engine in which power is efficiently taken out by speedily heating and cooling gas and reducing an energy loss caused by mechanical friction resistance in the external combustion engine.SOLUTION: Two gas cylinders in the same semicircular and cylindrical shape are provided in accordance with a difference between right-handed and left-handed manners and while being fitted vertically. The gas cylinders are rotated between a heater and a cooler, thereby speedily repeating heating and cooling of gas within the gas cylinders. The gas cylinder is structured to perform rotational motion, thereby reducing mechanical friction resistance. An output unit and an output plug are provided for taking out a pressure difference generated within the gas cylinders as power. The output plug is provided within the output unit and operated by receiving pressure sent from the gas cylinder. A power lever is fixed to the output plug. The power lever performs semicircular inversion motion simultaneously with the output plug. A stop pawl is provided to limit the motion of the power lever in one direction, the output unit is rotated and the output unit, the gas cylinders and components connected and fixed thereto are rotated as a whole, thereby obtaining power.
