    • An area which may be en-route from a departure place to a destination is specified, and when a route which passes through the specified en-route area is an optimal route, a guidance for the optimal route is given.     • In a pump driving device in an engine, driving a pump shaft of a pump mounted to an engine body by a valve-operating cam shaft supported by the engine body, a bolt is threadedly engaged with one end of the cam shaft, the bolt having a head portion in which a polygonal hole is formed, and a polygonal shaft portion is formed at one end of the pump shaft so as to be fitted into the polygonal hole. The pump shaft is driven by the cam shaft via the polygonal hole and the polygonal shaft portion. Thus, a large driving torque can be transmitted from the cam shaft to the pump shaft without reducing any effective support surface of a journal portion of the cam shaft.

    • An outboard engine is disclosed that includes an idling chamber that communicates with a guiding outlet of a first exhaust path and that is open to the atmosphere. The idling chamber includes a cooling water communicating path that communicates with a cooling water supplying path, and a pressure adjusting valve that opens the cooling water communicating path when the value of the water pressure in the cooling water supplying path reaches a threshold value. When the value of the water pressure in the cooling water supplying path reaches the threshold value, the pressure adjusting valve opens and a portion of cooling water is guided to the idling chamber through the cooling water communicating path.

    • An outboard motor S has an exhaust manifold passage 37 for carrying exhaust gas from combustion chambers 30. The exhaust manifold passage 37 is formed in a part of a cylinder head 22 in an exhaust-side part of an internal combustion engine E on the side of the cylinder head 22 with respect to a joint surface P of a cylinder block 20 joined to the cylinder head 22. An exhaust passage 38 is formed in the cylinder block 20 and connected to the exhaust gas outlet 37e of the exhaust manifold passage 37 in the joint surface P. An electrical equipment box 50 holding electrical equipment is placed in the exhaust-side part so as to overlap the exhaust passage 38 when viewed in vertical direction. An electrical equipment box 50 is disposed adjacent to the cylinder head 22 with respect to the direction parallel to the axes of cylinders 20a. It is thus possible to increase freedom of arranging parts at positions farther from the cylinder head than the electrical equipment box and freedom of determining the sizes of those parts.
