    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a conical gear type variable speed power transmission device controlling an input-output ratio continuously for acceleration and deceleration with less power transmission loss and employing a simple construction to allow manufacturing at low cost, wherefore the variable speed power transmission device of conical type is to be changed from a friction transmitting system to a geared system being a more reliable power transmitting means, and in association therewith, to provide a method of absorbing an amount corresponding to surplus gears in case the number of gears is not an integer and a method of performing a smooth and continuous move at shifting with a mating party gear to be meshed.SOLUTION: The invention is a method for solving the conventional problems using a tooth shape pattern structure of a conical type gear with a variable number of teeth having a V-form continuous tooth groove at the cone surface and a conical gear structure with a variable number of teeth of tip circle reduction type where the surplus gears are rounded in. As one embodiment this may be applied to a continuously variable geared transmission device in which the described gear is incorporated and which assures less transmission power loss, simple structure, and easy manufacturing.
