    • The present invention prevents a TFT liquid crystal display device from deteriorating its image quality due to the insufficiency of voltage written through TFTs. There is disclosed a display device that includes a display panel in which the plural pixel electrodes are positioned between two neighboring video signal lines and arranged in the extending direction of the video signal lines, a pixel electrode connected to one of the two neighboring video signal lines through a TFT and a pixel electrode connected to the other video signal line through a TFT being alternately arranged; and a correction circuit that compares the tone of video data to be written into one of the plural pixel electrodes against the tone of video data to be written into a preceding pixel electrode that is connected through a TFT to the video signal line, to which the one of the plural pixel electrodes is also connected through a TFT, and placed one position toward a signal input end of the video signal line as compared to the one of the plural pixel electrodes, and corrects the video data to be written into the one of the plural pixel electrodes.

    • A liquid crystal display device includes a liquid crystal display panel which sandwiches liquid crystal in the inside thereof sealed by a TFT substrate, a color filter substrate and a sealing portion, and a flexible printed circuit board which is mounted on the TFT substrate, wherein the TFT substrate has an area larger than the color filter substrate. A plurality of scanning lines extend in a lateral direction and are arranged parallel to each other in a longitudinal direction, a plurality data signal lines extend in the longitudinal direction and are arranged parallel to each other in the lateral direction, and terminal portions corresponding to the scanning lines are formed on the TFT substrate, the terminal portion is arranged at a region that is not covered by the color filter substrate. The terminal portions and the scanning lines are connected by auxiliary lines and connection lines in order from the terminal portions. The connection lines are arranged in a region covered with the color filter substrate, and the auxiliary lines extend to both the region that is covered by the color filter substrate and the region that is not covered by the color filter substrate.

    • Provided is a manufacturing method for a liquid crystal display device, in which a semiconductor pattern and a metal pattern are formed so that the semiconductor pattern includes a first portion formed under the metal pattern and a second portion which outwardly extends off the metal pattern from the first portion. An insulating layer for covering the metal pattern and the semiconductor pattern is formed. The insulating layer is subjected to etching in a first region located above the metal pattern and in a second region located above at least the second portion of the semiconductor pattern. In the etching step, the insulating layer in the first region is subjected to etching to form a through hole for electrical connection to the metal pattern, and the insulating layer and the semiconductor pattern in the second region are subjected to etching to remove the second portion of the semiconductor pattern.

Out of the pair of substrates, the substrate on which the signal lines are formed, on a side thereof which is disposed between a region on which the sealing material is arranged and the display region and along which the signal lines extend to the outside of the sealing material from the display region, includes a first conductive layer, a second conductive layer and an insulation layer which is interposed between the first and second conductive layers between the orientation film and the substrate, the insulation layer extends in the direction at least along an outer periphery of the display region, and includes groove portion having a recessed groove which opens on the orientation film side, the first conductive layer is formed along a shape of the recessed groove, and the signal lines are formed in a state that the signal lines go around the recessed groove.
