摘要： A method for improving plant salt-tolerance is described, which comprises treating a plant with an active ingredient comprising at least one compound selected from the group consisting of 5-aminolevulinic acid, a derivative of 5-aminolevulinic acid, a salt of 5-aminolevulinic acid, a salt of derivatives of 5-aminolevulinic acid, and hemins. Furthermore, a salt-tolerant plant is described, wherein the plant is treated with the above-described active ingredient. Moreover, a method for causing recovery of a salt-damaged plant is described, comprising administering the above-described active ingredient to a salt-damaged plant.

摘要： 2-Amino-4-(hydroxy)(methyl)phosphinoylbutyric acid, which earlier nomenclature referred to as 2-amino-4-methylphosphinobutyric acid or its metal salts, or acid-addition salts thereof are used as perennial weeds and brush controlling agents. The L-isomer is twice effective than the racemic acid. The perennial weeds and brush controlling effect may be obtained by foliar application over a prolonged period and maY be surprisingly enhanced by using the compound with a herbicide or synergist selected from the group consisting of choline salt of maleic hydrazide, a phenoxy series herbicide, a benzoic acid series herbicide, 2,3,6-trichlorophenylacetic acid or a salt thereof, (3,5,6-trichloro-2-pyridyl)oxyacetic acid or a salt thereof, N-phosphonomethylglycine or a salt thereof, ethylcarbamoylphosphoric acid or a salt thereof, 2-(1-allyloxyaminobutylidene)-5,5-dimethyl-4-methoxycarbonyl-cyclohexane-1,3-dione, 3-(3,4-dichlorophenyl)-1-methoxy-1-methylurea,3-amino-1,2,4-triazole, choline or a salt thereof, and diethylamine or a salt thereof.

摘要： There are provided novel substituted phenyl (thiono)carbamates capable of effectively controlling broad-leaved annual weeds and annual weeds belonging to the families Gramineae and Cyperaceae such as wild Echinochloa species, monochoria, toothcup and umbrella plant, herbicidal compositions containing these (thiono)carbamates as active ingredient and a method of controlling weeds using these (thiono)carbamates. The (thiono)carbamates are substantially nonphytotoxic to useful crop plants such as the paddy rice plant.

摘要： A herbicidal composition comprising a herbicidal amount of a mixture of(a) at least one S-.alpha.,.alpha.-dimethylbenzyl-N-alkylenimine carbothiolate of the formula ##STR1## wherein R represents a lower alkyl group, m is 0, 1 or 2, n is 4, 5 or 6, and the chain of n --CH.sub.2 -- linkages may contain one oxygen atom, and(b) at least one compound selected from the group consisting of N-[p-(p-chlorobenzyloxy)phenyl]-3,4,5,6-tetrahydrophthalimide, 1,3-dimethyl-4-(2,4-dichlorobenzoyl)-5-(p-tolylsulfonyloxy)pyrazole, 3,4-dichloropropionanilide, and 1-(2-phenylpropyl)-3-(4-tolyl)urea, and a method for controlling weeds, which comprises applying 1 to 2,000 g/10 ares of the aforesaid composition to the locus where the weeds are growing or will grow. The composition is especially useful in rice cultivation for controlling weeds of Family Gramineae (e.g., barnyard grass) and broad-leaved weeds without toxocity to rice.
