    • A first notification indicating a change on an account of a mobile station is generated and sent to an account holder of the mobile station via a first delivery procedure, when the change on the account of the mobile station occurs. The first notification is sent to the account holder only if a destination for the first delivery procedure has not changed for at least a predetermined period. A second notification of the change on the account of the mobile station is sent to the account holder via a second delivery procedure, if the first notification is not successfully sent to the account holder. Additional notifications of the change on the account of the mobile station may be sent to the account holder via respective different delivery procedures consecutively until any of the notification is successfully sent to the account holder. The first, the second and the various delivery procedures are among a Short Message Service (SMS) message, an Enhance Messaging Service (EMS), a Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS), an email, a fax, a voice call and a letter. Order of the delivery procedures to be sent may be determined based on cost for sending the notifications.

    • Audit objects generated by applications executing on one or more computers are received in a central queue. Each audit object is generated responsive to a transaction occurrence in the execution of an application. Each audit object includes detailed information about the transaction occurrence, including information identifying the application and the transaction that occurred. Each audit object in the central queue is transformed from a format used by the application into a common format for audit processing with respect to all of the applications. At least some of the formats used by the applications are different. Each transformed audit object is placed into a record in a central database for the respective application by populating the detailed information about the transaction occurrence from each transformed audit object into fields of the record in the database for the respective application.

    • A load balancing server system balances the load imposed by requestor requests for services across a set of service-providing servers. A network interface receives the requestor requests from a network communication system and sends server requests for services to the service-providing servers. A data processing system creates and maintains server status information indicative of whether each service-providing server is operational, and server pointer information identifying the service-providing server to which the next server request should be sent. In response to each requestor request, the data processing system causes the network interface to send one or more server requests for one or more services related to the requestor request to the service-providing server identified by the server pointer information and increments in a round-robin manner the server pointer information to the next operational service-providing server.

    • The instant application describes a method for enabling a user of a mobile device to purchase a Ring Back Tone (“RBT”). The method includes steps of receiving an identifier associated with the mobile device that has received the RBT as a result of a call to another device and a mapping identification code associated with a RBT content identification code; generating a long code for the mapping identification code; and generating a message with the long code as a reply-to-number. The method also includes steps of sending the message to the mobile device, the message offering the user of the mobile device an option to purchase the RBT; receiving a response from the mobile device, reflecting the mobile device's user desire to either purchase the RBT or not to purchase the RBT; and identifying the mapping identification code from the reply-to-number in the response. Upon determining that the user desires to purchase the RBT from the response, allowing the purchase of the RBT by determining the RBT content identification code based on the mapping identification code.

    • The instant application describes a Mobile Service Provider network configured to provide its users with a secure Electronic Mail (“E-mail”) bill statement. The network includes first through third servers. The first server is configured to (i) receive, from a user, an enrollment request for a secure E-mail billing statement, the request including an E-mail address and account information and (ii) update the account of the user to reflect that the user has requested the secure E-mail billing statement. The second server is configured to (i) receive the request from the first server; (ii) generate an identifier for the request; (iii) store the request along with the identifier in a table; and (iv) validate the E-mail address of the user by sending an E-mail to the provided E-mail address, the E-mail includes the identifier. The third server is configured to (i) receive a response of the user to the E-mail sent by the second server, where the response includes the identifier and a password; (ii) validate the identifier via the second server; (iii) validate the password via the first server; and (iv) upon successful validations of the password and identifier, forward a successful authentication notice to the first server. The first server, upon receiving the successful authentication notice, is further configured to (iii) update the account of the user to reflect that the user has enrolled in the secure E-mail billing statement and (iv) request the second server to inform the user of the successful enrollment in the secure E-mail billing statement.
