摘要： A flameless combustion heater is described that comprises an oxidation conduit and a fuel conduit having a plurality of centralizers attached to the external wall of the fuel conduit wherein at least one centralizer or portion of a centralizer is angled with respect to the longitudinal axis of the fuel conduit. A method for providing heat to a process conduit is also described that comprises providing an oxidation conduit; providing a fuel conduit having a plurality of openings that provide fluid communication from within the fuel conduit to the oxidation conduit, and a plurality of centralizers attached to the fuel conduit wherein at least one centralizer or portion of a centralizer is angled with respect to the longitudinal axis of the fuel conduit; providing a process conduit in a heat exchange relationship with the oxidation conduit; introducing fuel into the fuel conduit; introducing an oxidant into the oxidation conduit; and introducing the fuel into the oxidation conduit through the plurality of openings such that flameless combustion occurs in the oxidation conduit.

摘要： Systems for heating a subsurface formation are described. The systems include a plurality of oxidizers positioned in a wellbore to form an oxidizer assembly. One or more of the oxidizers may include a shield with flame stabilizers. The flame stabilizers may stabilize the flame zone of the oxidizer by controlling fluid flow entering the shield and by controlling fluid flowing in the oxidizer. One or more of the oxidizers may be a catalytic oxidizer. Catalytic oxidizers may facilitate ignition of the oxidizers of the oxidizer assembly.

摘要： The invention relates to a new and improved process and apparatus for the production of high purity hydrogen by steam reforming. The apparatus is an integrated flameless distributed combustion-membrane steam reforming (FDC-MSR) or reactor for steam reforming of a vaporizable hydrocarbon to produce H2 and CO2, with minimal CO, and minimal CO in the H2 stream. The flameless distributed combustion drives the steam reforming reaction which pro-vides great improvements in heat exchange efficiency and load following capabilities. The reactor may contain multiple flameless distributed combustion chambers and multiple hydrogen-selective, hydrogen-permeable, membrane tubes. The feed and reaction gases may flow through the reactor either radially or axially. A further embodiment of the invention involves producing high purity hydrogen by dehydrogenation using an integrated FDC -membrane de-hydrogenation reactor. A still further embodiment of the invention involves a zero emission hybrid power system wherein the produced hydrogen is used to power a high-pressure internally manifolded molten carbonate fuel cell. In addition, the design of the FDC-SMR powered fuel cell makes it possible to capture good concentrations of CO2 for sequestration or use in other processes.

摘要： A flameless combustion heater is described, that comprises an oxidation conduit and a fuel conduit positioned within the oxidation conduit to form an oxidation zone having an inlet and an outlet, said fuel conduit having a plurality of openings that provide fluid communication from within the fuel conduit to the oxidation conduit wherein the longitudinal axis of at least one opening forms an oblique angle with the inner surface of the oxidation conduit. A method for providing heat to a process conduit is described, that comprises providing an oxidation conduit; providing a fuel conduit having a plurality of openings that provide fluid communication from within the fuel conduit to the oxidation conduit wherein the longitudinal axis of at least one opening forms an oblique angle with the inner surface of the oxidation conduit; providing a process conduit in a heat exchange relationship with the oxidation conduit; introducing fuel into the fuel conduit; introducing an oxidant into the oxidation conduit; and introducing the fuel into the oxidation conduit through the plurality of openings such that flameless combustion occurs in the oxidation conduit.

摘要： Systems for heating a subsurface formation are described. The systems include a plurality of oxidizers positioned in a wellbore to form an oxidizer assembly. One or more of the oxidizers may include a shield with flame stabilizers. The flame stabilizers may stabilize the flame zone of the oxidizer by controlling fluid flow entering the shield and by controlling fluid flowing in the oxidizer. One or more of the oxidizers may be a catalytic oxidizer. Catalytic oxidizers may facilitate ignition of the oxidizers of the oxidizer assembly.
