    • The invention concerns a rotary belt tool for surface working which is much more versatile and effective than known tools but is nevertheless easy to handle, durable, safe, easily maintained, as well as compact and economical. The belt of the tool is designed as an endless, narrow closed ring to which are attached radial external elements such as bristles, teeth, abrasive grain, or burnishing compounds. The belt is attached along its entire periphery to the periphery of the axial surface shell of a single belt carrier which can rotate. The tool, for example for structuring wood, finishing leather, or derusting steel profiles, can be designed as a wire brush, in which the bristles which extends radially outward from the tool axis as the axis of rotation can be attached, for example, in an equally spaced non-rotatable manner to their main bristle axis such that bristles positioned one behind the other in the peripheral direction are laterally offset to one another in the axial direction and the end regions of the bristles for example also in the peripheral direction can be slightly bent, the tips of the bristles can be smooth, and the rate of removal of material can be appreciably varied by changing the direction of rotation of the tool. By varying the lengths of the bristles, for example, over the axial length of the tool, rods of any type of material having a profile cross-section in the longitudinal direction can be surface worked over partial contour regions.

    • The disclosed engine comprises at least one cylinder inside which is moveably arranged a piston which may effect axial stroke motions within the cylinder and which is provided with cylindrical extensions which extend on both sides in the axial direction from the piston and presenting at least partially a diameter smaller than that of the piston, said extensions being partially guided in the axial bores. The cylinder presents combustion spaces which are formed of portions of inner surfaces of the cylinder wall and portions of the piston surfaces as well as of its extensions. Ports are provided in the longitudinal wall of the cylinder for air intake or air-fuel mixture as well as for the exhaust of burned gases, said intake and exhaust ports being respectively open or closed according to the axial position of the piston. Channels are provided inside the piston and its extensions to enable the controlled flow of fresh gases intended to the combustion, said channels communicating with borings provided in the surface of the envelope of the extensions. Through these borings, the channels may, for axial positions of the piston inside the cylinder which are substantially similar, communicate or not with the combustion spaces, the exhaust ports being also freed or closed by the piston.
