    • The lock device includes a main lock member (6) disposed at the upper edge of a lower door (4) and having a latch (18) and a ratchet (19) for pre­venting reverse rotation of the latch (18); a main striker (5) disposed at the lower edge of the upper door (3) and engaging with the main lock member (6); side lock members (10) disposed on both right and left sides of the lower door (4); two side stri­kers (11) engaging with the side lock members (10); a key operation member (9) disposed on the outer face of the lower door (4) for releasing the engage­ment between the main lock member (6) and the main striker (5); and a door opening handle (8) disposed on the outer face of the lower door (4) for releasing the engagement between the side lock members (10) and the side strikers (11). The latch (18) of the main lock member (6) is mounted on a first horizontal shaft (17) which lies parallel to the width of the car body, the ratchet (19) of the main lock member (6) is mounted on a second horizontal shaft (47) which is parallel with t!e first horizontal shaft (17), and the main striker (5) is fitted to the upper door (3) in a position parallel to the width of the car body.
