    • A trim assembly is mounted by a resilient spring in a housing, which is recessed in a ceiling, to support a light fixture. The trim assembly includes a cylindrical collar insertable within the housing and a flange with a central opening supporting one end of the cylindrical collar surrounding the opening being flush with the ceiling, when the trim assembly is mounted within the housing. A gimbal, which is located within and spaced apart from the collar, supports the light fixture. The springs are attached to opposite sides of an outer surface of the collar, for engaging an inner surface of the housing, to hold the trim assembly in place. In addition, the gimbal is retained within the collar by fasteners which allow limited rotation of the gimbal.

    • A woodworking bench and related fixtures providing an integrated system of bench features, vises, dogs, panel clamps, hold-downs and fixtures that cooperate to provide a highly flexible workpiece holding and clamping apparatus able to accommodate a wide variety of shapes and sizes of workpieces and hold such workpieces in an enormous variety of positions during numerous different operations. Two substantial slabs provide the bench top surface and carry a rectilinear pattern (in rows and files) of round, vertical bench dog holes. The rectilinear pattern of round bench dog holes with specific, equal spacing between holes, and similar holes in the edge of the top, facilitate great flexibility in clamping using conventional round dogs in the bench top holes and corresponding dogs in bench edge-mounted, or end-mounted vises. Such holes also accommodate other clamping, fixing and hold-down fixtures that contribute to flexibility and utility. The two slabs are separated by a tool trough, and optional bench top ends or caps span the ends of the slabs, unify the bench top structure and provide a fixed jaw for an end-mounted twin screw vise. Optional skirts form a deep longitudinal edge for the top and join the ends to form a rectangular frame for the top. Dog holes in the edge of the top permit workpieces to be fixed along the bench edge using the hold-down, two clamping bench dogs, or a fixed dog and either of the clamping dog or the twin screw vise.

    • A hinge drilling jig for use in the "32 mm" or face-frameless system of cabinet construction for locating and drilling the hinge cup and the hinge cup mounting screw holes to be drilled in a cabinet door. A flat bottom drill bit is slideably retained in a jig body for drilling the hinge cup hole, and two thumbscrews locate the jig on the face of the cabinet door relative to its vertical edge. A collar retains the drill bit in the body and a shoulder on the drill bit and annular rings cut on the shank of the drill bit allow measurement of the depth of the hinge cup hole prior to being drilled by the drill bit. A plurality of countersinks on the body locate the position of the hinge mounting screw holes on the face of the cabinet door in predetermined positions. The jig is held in position on the door by a handle or a clamping arm having a clamping screw and a gauge assembly locates the jig on the face of the cabinet door relative to the second edge.

    • A stable mountable blind shelf support is mounted upon a wall having wall studs. A blind shelf mount for a shelf includes either a mounting disk or a baseplate with fasteners and a support post, such as a hex post, and is attached by further fasteners to a wall stud. Prior to installation, the wall is marked with mounting locations on the back edge of a shelf by transferring impressions from the support post or fasteners. Lines are scribed using a carpenter's square at each location of an impressed mark; then the midpoint of thickness at each site is marked. A counterbore is formed at each marked site on the back edge of the shelf and then the location of the drilled post holes is derived. The holes thus formed accept posts formed for two or more routed recesses in registration with each other in the finished laminated built-up shelf.

    • A powered sharpening system utilizing a turntable to rotate reversible, interchangeable platters carrying different grades of abrasive for grinding, polishing and lapping woodworking and other edge tools to be sharpened that are secured in a tool holder that contacts a reference surface on a tool rest to facilitate formation of bevels and micro-bevels at desired angles. Use of a platter of a first thickness followed by a thinner platter enables automatic formation of a micro-bevel without any adjustment in the tool holder, tool rest or sharpening technique. The turntable is rotated by an electric motor that also rotates a conventional abrasive wheel or a conventional narrow abrasive belt. The motor is mounted in a base within which a duct is located for coupling to a vacuum system for removing, through ports in the duct, abrasive and metal particles produced in grinding and sharpening. Blades on the underside of the turntable induce airflow through the base to cool the motor and other components.

    • A combination linear spring clip and capturing guide retains a reflector to a ceiling lighting fixture, which has a mounting frame secured in a ceiling, wherein the mounting frame includes an opening to accommodate the reflector. One or more capturing guides are mounted on an upper surface of the mounting frame surrounding the opening. Each capturing guide extends radially from a center of the opening. Respective springs are linearly slidable within the respective capturing guides, with a portion of each spring extending out of each capturing guide. Each linear spring clip engages an outer surface of the light fixture reflector to secure it in place, allowing the mounting of reflectors of varying size.
