    • A machine for the cold sawing of workpieces, particularly those made of metal, in which a vertical feed of a circular vertical saw blade is guided vertically by gliding elements adhering laterally to the saw blade. The gliding elements are guided movably relative to the saw blade of a drive for the blade, parallel to the plane of the saw blade. The gliding elements may be located above the workpieces, and they may be fastened by carrier to vertical or inclined straight guides. These gliding elements, furthermore, may be fastened to guides with a curved guide track. The guides may be fastened to stands guiding the transmission housing, and the gliding elements contacting the front side of the saw blade, may be connected to each other by a carrier which, on its underside, has the form of a lower section of the saw blade and covers the lower soft blade section. The gliding elements, moreover, may also be contacting the front side of the saw blade and may be connected to each other by a carrier which is fastened to parts of rear gliding elements.

A circular saw for cutting cold metal with a saw blade 1 movable together with a gear-box 5 in the direction of cutting comprises a plate 8 for supporting a workpiece and having a gap through which the blade extends and a guideway 22 engaging a guideway 10 of the gear-box, and frame walls 6, 7 connected to the plate and having two rails 15, 17 with guiding faces 11, 12 parallel to the guideway, the two faces being at opposite sides of a plane normal to, and below, the guideway, each rail co-operating with a guide 24, 34 connected to the gear-box and at least one of the guides being connected by a compression spring 27 to the gear-box to press the guideway of the gear-box against the guideway of the supporting plate. The guide 24 is adjustable along inclined surfaces (24a, 26a, Fig. 2) relative to an intermediate member (26) by means of a screw and nut arrangement (32, 33) and the compression springs 27 act between the member 26 and an end member 28 mounted on the gear-box to press the guide 24 against the rail 15. The guide 34 is adjustable by a screw- and nut arrangement (39, 40, Fig. 3) along the inclined surface of a member 36 secured to the gear-box, the guide 34 and rail 17 acting as a pivot about which the springs 27 urge the gearbox and saw blade to press the guideway 10 on the gear-box against the guideway 22 on the supporting plate 8. The edges of the guides may be of bronze or graphited plastic. The gear-box is guided laterally by a guideway 19 on the plate 8, and is fed along the guides by a motor-driven screw engaging a nut on the gear-box. The saw blade is prevented from bending during use by jaws (45, 47, Figs. 4, 5 and 6), the jaws (47) being carried by flexible steel plates (49) secured to the gear-box and being adjustable towards or from the saw blade by bolts (48) abutting the gear-box. The jaws (45) are carried by flexible steel plates (44) mounted on members (41) which have faces (41a) abutting the end member (28), ends (41b) located in recesses (43) in shoulders (42) secured to the member 26, and nuts (41c) having screws (46) which are adjustable to position the jaws (45) in engagement with the blade.

    • A drilling machine for working on longer workpieces, such as steel profiles having a fixed, non-variable frame. The machine includes a horizontal machine underpart arranged transversely to the longitudinal axis of the workpiece, two vertical side parts attached to the underpart ends and a horizontal upper beam attached on the side parts, and three drilling units each having a drilling spindle, a gear and a motor. The drilling units are shiftable in a plane parallel to the frame. The first drilling unit has a horizontal drilling spindle and is attached to a side part to the side of the workpiece; the second drilling unit has a second spindle arranged horizontally to the first drilling unit and on the opposing side of the workpiece; and, the third drilling unit has a vertical spindle and is attached to the upper beam. The second drilling unit has its horizontal drilling spindle on a horizontally driven carriage provided with lower wheels and upper wheels. The lower wheels on at least one rail which is attached to the machine underpart, and the upper wheels run on at least one rail which is attached to the upper beam.
