    • Apparatuses and methods for wirelessly charging electronic devices are provided. The apparatuses and methods disclosed herein may wirelessly charge electronic devices by causing a power distribution device to send a group short beacon signal to a plurality of micro-PTU-coils; identifying a load on a first micro-PTU-coil of the plurality of micro-PTU-coils using a detected magnetic flux caused by an object being proximate to the first micro-PTU-coil; determining a location of the object using the identified load on the first micro-PTU-coil; causing the power distribution device to send a group long beacon signal to the plurality of micro-PTU-coils; receiving, from the object, an advertisement, the advertisement comprising an indication of a coupling strength between the first micro-PTU-coil and the object; determining that the object is an electronic device; and determining to apply a current to the first micro-PTU-coil using the location of the electronic device and the coupling strength data.

    • Notification techniques for wireless power transfer systems are described. In one embodiment, for example, an apparatus may comprise a power transmitting unit (PTU) and logic, at least a portion of which is in hardware, the logic to initiate an extraneous object detection procedure to check for a presence of extraneous objects within a transfer field of the PTU during operation of the PTU in a power transfer state, and in response to a detection of an extraneous object, send an extraneous object notification message to a power receiving unit (PRU) and determine whether to maintain the PTU in the power transfer state based on a determination of whether the extraneous object comprises a rogue object. Other embodiments are described and claimed.

    • A computer system may comprise a receiver to perform equalization. The receiver comprises an equalizer. The equalizer may determine locations of a principal tap, a platform noise tap, and a pre-cursor tap in a feedforward path of an equalizer. Also, the equalizer may determine locations of a post-cursor tap, a cross-term tap, and a portable tap in a feedback path of the equalizer. The receiver may align the portable tap in the feedback path with the principal tap in the feedforward path. The platform noise tap may cancel the effect of platform noise on a principal located at the principal tap, thus enabling the computer system to operate effectively in severe platform noise environment. Also, the computer system may operate in statics and portable environment in which platform noise and AGWN may be present.
