    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently and reliably testing an unprocessed pellet.
      SOLUTION: The method analyzes a pellet producing process using an apparatus provided with first and second devices having contact faces (8, 13) relatively and movably facing each other and the unprocessed pellet for optimizing an extraction of iron or a characteristic of the pellet test piece (A) of an iron-containing reduction material, and comprises a step for placing the test piece between the contact faces, a step for continuously reducing a distance between the contact faces, a step for measuring a diameter of the test piece when the test piece contacts the contact faces, a step for oppositely moving the contact faces until the test piece is corrupted while the test piece is pressed, a step for continuously recording and storing a time and a force applied to the test piece, a step for recording the maximum force at all points at which the test piece is corrupted, a step for increasing the distance between the contact faces, and a step for removing the test piece.
