    • A holder for an auxiliary nib (22) is disclosed which is intended to be fitted on the body of a main marker pen (2) when a finer line is to be drawn. The auxiliary nib holder has at its outer end a cavity (12) in which fits a length of ink-permeable material (16) in ink-transfer contact or relationship with a projecting fine nib (22). Also seated with the cavity is an axially-movable preferably globular wick (26) which is prevented from falling out of the inner end of the cavity, e.g. by means of an end rib (24). The globular wick (26) is of controlled and known permeability, so that ink is able to flow at a known and acceptable rate to the fine nib (22) when the auxiliary nib holder is in position on the marker pen and the globular wick (26) is engaged by the marker nib (6).

    • In known data retrieval systems, a central database is accessed by computer via a telephone line, and the user is charged for all the time he is connected to the database. Described herein is a system which has a database on a CD-ROM disk, but with some of the data elements on the disk being stored in an encrypted or non-accessible form. The user can search through others of the data elements stored on the disk, e.g. through a catalogue and then select a desired data element. Once the element is selected, the system automatically secures an access code in the form of an electronic key e.g. from a remote central computer, which enables the selected data element to be accessed and downloaded from the disk. The user needs only be charged for the access code for each element he selects and not for the searching time. The major advantage of the system is that large quantities of data do not have to be sent down the telephone line: it is accessible immediately once the electronic key, which can be sent very fast, is received.

    • Toner images formed on transparent or translucent sheets may be transferred to artwork by covering them with adhesive in order to stick the toner image to the artwork more strongly than it adheres to the transparent or translucent sheet and then peeling the transparent or translucent sheet away. In accordance with the invention the toner image is adhered by selective transfer of a low tack pressure sensitive adhesive from a layer of such adhesive on a release surface. Transfer is effected by bringing the toner image into intimate contact with the layer of adhesive and then lifting away the transparent or translucent sheet which can thereafter be used in the manner of a dry transfer sheet to transfer the toner image to the desired artwork. The toner image may be covered prior to the application of adhesive by the selective application of a further layer, e.g. from a blocking foil of known type.
