[Class 141.] A dress former comprises a garment hanger 22 mounted on the upper end of a narrow frame 10, a pair of oppositely-slidable transverse bars 12 mounted in a guide 11 provided intermediate the ends of the frame 10, slides 17, 20, mounted respectively above and below the guide 11, former bars 14 pivoted on the outer ends of the transverse bars 12, links 18 pivotally connecting the upper ends of the former bars 14 with the slide 17 and additional links 21 pivotally connecting the lower ends of the former bars 14 with the slide 20. The slides 17, 20, are adjustable independently of each other, the adjustable means for each slide comprising an adjustable rod mounted in bearing means at an end of the frame and having a threaded end for engagement with the corresponding slide, the rod being provided with a longitudinal series of spaced openings any selected one of which being adapted to receive a pin to co-operate with the bearing means to hold the rod at the desired position with respect to the frame.
