摘要： The invention relates to a method for performing encoding in a cellular network comprising in each cell at least one base station (41, 45) communicating with terminal equipments (40, 46) within its coverage area, and a mobile switching centre (43) controlling the operation of the base stations. In order to improve the transmission quality over a connection between two terminal equipments according to the method of the invention, when the mobile switching centre (43) detects during call set-up or handover that the call is between two terminal equipments (40, 46) located within the area of the mobile switching centre, the mobile switching centre guides the transcoders of base stations communicating with the terminal equipments to a mode in which the transcoders adapt the rate to fit the transmission network but they do not encode the speech signal.

摘要： The invention relates to a data transmission method and system wherein the user signals are transmitted wirelessly in a given channel, and a maximum delay has been defined for said system. The system comprises means (310, 312, 320) at the transmitting end for performing sequentially an outer coding and an inner coding to the signals to be transmitted and means (210, 212) for performing a first interleaving to a signal after the outer coding, the interleaving length of said first interleaving being chosen within the scope of the maximum delay defined for the system. To ensure improved performance, the system comprises means (336) for performing a second interleaving to the signal after the inner coding, the interleaving length of said second interleaving being substantially equal to the interleaving length of the first interleaving.
