摘要： The assemblies of the present invention comprise an electrode, an absorber layer and a polyimide film. The polyimide film contains from about 40 to about 95 weight percent of a polyimide derived from: i. at least one aromatic dianhydride, at least about 85 mole percent of such aromatic dianhydride being a rigid rod type dianhydride, and ii. at least one aromatic diamine, at least about 85 mole percent of such aromatic diamine being a rigid rod type diamine. The polyimide films of the present disclosure further comprise a filler that: i. is less than about 800 nanometers in at least one dimension; ii. has an aspect ratio greater than about 3:1 ; iii. is less than the thickness of the polyimide film in all dimensions; and iv. is present in an amount from about 5 to about 60 weight percent of the total weight of the polyimide film.

Gas is contacted with CO, COS, and an oxygen-containing gas with a suitable catalyst. The catalyst may be a metal oxide catalyst containing bismuth, cobalt and nickel, a xerogel or aerogel catalyst containing Au, Rh, Ru and Co in aluminum oxide/oxyhydroxide matrices, or a supported metal catalyst that contains at least one metal from the group Pd, Rh, Ru and Cu. In the latter case, the catalyst support is contains alumina or carbon. A catalyst composite of Au, Rh, Ru and Cr, and cerium oxide and lanthanum oxide may also be used.

摘要： The present invention concerns a method for enhancing the activity of vanadium phosphorus oxide (VPO) catalysts. Promoter reagents are grafted onto or reacted with the catalyst surface. An optional calcination and activation heating cycle transforms the catalyst precursor into a final active phase. A preferred VPO catalyst produced has a ratio of molybdenum to vanadium on the surface of the catalyst to molybdenum to vanadium in the overall bulk of the catalyst represented by the equation (Mo/V) Surface≧1.10 (Mo/V) overall bulk.

摘要： A novel method of producing mixed metal oxide powder (e.g., ferrite powder, or high temperature superconductor powder such as YBa.sub.2 Cu.sub.3 O.sub.x powder) is disclosed. The method comprises forming an intimate mixture of appropriate metal salts (e.g., nitrates and acetates), at least one of which is an oxidizing agent with respect to at least one of the others, and heating the mixture to a reaction temperature such that an exothermic redox reaction occurs. Appropriate choice of oxidizing and reducing agents permits control of heat of reaction and reaction temperature. The product of the reaction typically is a precursor of the desired mixed oxide, the precursor typically consisting essentially of the metal constituents of the mixed oxide and oxygen. Heat treatment in an O.sub.2 -containing atmosphere transforms the precursor into the desired mixed oxide powder. The thus produced powder can then be used in conventional fashion, e.g., to produce bodies therefrom by pressing and/or sintering.
