    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an intercalation compound material having a more regular enclosed structure in an enclosed state of a carbon intercalant.
      SOLUTION: A method for producing the intercalation compound material comprises the steps of: preparing a hexagonal oxide having a layered structure; bringing the prepared hexagonal oxide into contact with the carbon intercalant in the presence of an organic amine to enclose the carbon intercalant in an interlayer of the oxide. Since the carbon intercalant is introduced easily into the interlayer, the intercalation compound material having the more regular enclosed structure can be obtained.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an intercalation compound by which the increase of the internal pressure can be suppressed or prevented at a step of inserting a carbon-based intercalant such as fullerene into an interlayer of a hexagonal crystal having a layered structure.
      SOLUTION: The method for producing the intercalation compound comprises the steps of: heating the hexagonal crystal having the layered structure or the carbon-based intercalant, which are materials of the intercalation compound, to remove components other than the materials of the intercalation compound from the material of the intercalation compound; and further heating the required material of the intercalation compound, the hexagonal crystal or the carbon-based intercalant, to sublime the carbon-based intercalant. According to this method, gases derived from the materials of the intercalation compound can be discharged effectively, the increase of the internal pressure can be restrained and a loss of the carbon-based intercalant can also be suppressed.
