    • PURPOSE: To prevent breaking of thread as a result of the thread being forcibly rolled in a roller, by a method wherein, through mounting of an air exhauster, having a rotary blade rotated together with a roller, the thread on the outer periphery of the roller is floated by dint of an air flow.
      CONSTITUTION: A thread 36 is fed to a knitting machine as it is wound around the outer periphery of a roller 4. A rotary blade 12 is rotated together with the roller 4, and air in the lower part of a casing 7 is rotated at a high speed to exhaust the air through an exhaust port 19. Since a pressure at a central part in the lower part of the casing 7 is reduced, air at the outside from through an air inlet 5 into an outer cylinder 3, and is sucked through a bleeder 9 in a suction port 18. Since the thread 36 is pulled by the knitter during operation of the knitter and the thread 36 is forced into contact with the outer periphery of the roller 4, the thread 36 is prevented from floating from the roller 4 thanks to an air flow. When running of the thread 36 is stopped resulting from a stop of operation, the thread 36 on the outer side of the roller 4 is also stopped. Besides, since a motor 22 is designed to be prevented from a stop, the roller 4 continues rotation together with the rotary blade 12.
