    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laser beam machining apparatus or the like capable of continuously and finely machining a certain area of a required material with extremely high machining accuracy. SOLUTION: The laser beam machining apparatus is equipped with an oscillator 1 which emits a laser beam B for machining, a galvanomirror 3 which is for correcting the irradiation position in a Y direction on a workpiece 8 to be machined by the laser beam B, and reflects the laser beam B to irradiate a polygon mirror 4 with the laser beam, the polygon mirror 4 which scans the laser beam B reflected by the galvanomirror 3 in an X direction on the polygon mirror 4, an fθlens 5 which condenses the laser beam B reflected at the polygon mirror 4 onto the workpiece 8, and a control section PC which controls the reflection angle of the laser beam B at the galvanomirror 3 so as to compensate the irradiation position error in the Y direction of the laser beam B with respect to the workpiece 8 in correspondence to the distortion aberration generated in the laser beam B past the fθlens 5 due to the passage of the laser beam B through the lens and controls the pulse oscillation intervals of the laser beam B in the oscillator 1 so as to compensate the irradiation position error in the X direction of the laser beam B with respect to the workpiece 8 in correspondence to the distortion aberration.     • A spindle motor has a rotor, a stator and an air dynamic pressure bearing for supporting the rotor for rotation about a rotational axis relative to the stator. The air dynamic pressure bearing comprises a first dynamic pressure bearing portion and a second dynamic pressure bearing portion. The first dynamic pressure bearing portion comprises a convex side bearing member having a conical convex portion, a concave side bearing member having a conical concave portion receiving the conical convex portion, and dynamic pressure generating grooves formed on one of a surface of the conical convex portion and a surface of the conical concave portion. The second dynamic pressure bearing portion comprises a shaft having a first end fixed to the concave side bearing member and extending along the rotational axis, a bore formed in the convex side bearing member for receiving a second end of the shaft to permit rotation of the convex side bearing member relative to the concave side bearing member about the shaft, and dynamic pressure grooves formed on one of an outer circumferential surface of the shaft and an inner circumferential surface of the bore.
