    • A method and an apparatus for dispensing a pH balancing solution are provided. The apparatus includes a system having a chlorine generator with a power supply coupled to the chlorine generator, the chlorine generator servicing a body of water and chlorinating it. A pH monitoring and balancing unit is provided. The pH monitoring and balancing unit monitors and measures when power is supplied from the power supply to the chlorine generator to produce chlorine and thereby calculates an operational time for the chlorine generator. A pH monitoring and balancing unit controller is also provided, the pH monitoring and balancing unit controller computing an estimated pH level based on the production of the chlorine generator from the operational time measured and then determining if the estimated pH is outside of a desired range, and, if it is outside of the desired range, metering a discrete amount of pH balancing solution based on this estimated pH level to return the pH of the body of water to within the desired range.

    • A sensor system in a water treatment system has a housing, controller, one or more light sources, one or more sensors and one or more targets having an immobilized reagent thereon. Light source emits light energy into the housing that is incident upon the target with the immobilized reagent and the reagent being in contact with water from the system. The immobilized reagent interacts with a reactant in the water such that the interaction changes the state of the reagent. When energy from the light source is incident on the target with the immobilized reagent the energy shows a change detectable by the sensor such that the changed energy is detectable by and collected at the sensor and data on the energy is communicated to the controller. The data is then correlated as a representation of a desired variable to be measured for the water in the water treatment system.

    • A pH balancing solution dispenser having an upper body portion and a lower dispenser body portion. An interior support portion is provided with a dispensing grid and an at least one piercing mechanism thereon. A dispenser lid and an at least one dispensing mechanism are provided wherein a container of pH balancing solution is placed within the upper body portion and situated in communication with the piercing mechanism. The container is pierced and opened and the pH balancing solution flows from the container through the dispensing grid and is stored for distribution by the at least one dispensing mechanism. A unit controller can be provided to meter a dose of pH solution when instructed by the pH balancing solution dispenser to balance the pH of the body of water based on the estimation made by the unit controller using the measured operational time.

    • An underwater pendant or accent light in contact with a body of water is provided. The underwater pendant or accent light has a housing. The housing has an at least one water tight end fitting at a first end of the housing and an at least one lens at a second end of the housing. An electronics section is further provided. The electronics section including an at least one controller contained within the housing and coupled to a power source. An at least one LED is coupled to the electronics section. An at least one heat sink is coupled to the at least one LED and the electronics section, the heat sink thermally coupled to and mounting the at least one LED and thermally coupled to the electronics section such that heat is communicated through the at least one heat sink. The heat sink has an at least one thermal expansion slot to accommodate thermal expansion of the heat sink as it absorbs heat, wherein the heat sink is in thermal communication through a thermal path with the housing and transmits the absorbed heat through the housing and lens to the body of water. A method of using same is also provided.
