    • A focus control circuit controls focus of a laser light by using an objective lens actuator. A tracking control circuit controls tracking of the laser light by using the objective lens actuator. The lens actuator includes a fixed unit including two magnets; and a moving unit arranged between the two magnets and including the objective lens, a lens holder, a focus coil, and a tracking coil. The tracking coil is provided on the lens holder such that the position of a tracking coil center in a focus direction is located more toward the objective lens side than the position of a magnetic circuit center of each magnet in the focus direction.

    • An overhang type objective-lens actuator includes an objective lens for focusing laser light onto an optical disk, a substantially tongue-shaped lens holder formed of a magnesium alloy and having a circular opening in which the objective lens is mounted, the circular opening being provided near a front end of the lens holder, a fixed unit disposed such as to face a bottom face and a rear end face of the lens holder, a plurality of suspension wires for suspending the lens holder, the suspension wires being fixed at one end to the lens holder and at the other end to the fixed unit, a plurality of coils and a plurality of magnets for driving the lens holder in a tracking direction, a focus direction, and a tilting direction, and a plurality of damper weights bonded to an outer peripheral surface of the lens holder.

    • An objective lens actuator of the present invention is an actuator capable of driving an objective lens which condenses a laser beam on an information recording surface of an optical disk, in each of a focusing direction, a tracking direction and a radial tilt direction. The actuator comprises a fixed unit including first and second magnets, and a moving unit which is arranged between the first and second magnets and which includes the objective lens, focusing coils, tracking coils, and a radial tilt coil. Each of the magnets is divided into four areas and being magnetized such that adjacent areas have opposite poles N and S, respectively. A direction of the magnetization is orthogonal to the focusing direction and tracking direction.
