An adjusting knob provided on the housing of the headphone apparatus is moved, closing an opening made in a baffle. As a result, an acoustic space defined by the inner side of the baffle and an ear pad is more closed, thus increasing the level of low-frequency components of the sound generated by a sound-generating unit. Hence, the acoustic characteristics of the apparatus can be easily changed as the user desires.
