摘要： Cavities capable of housing terminal fittings connected with the ends of electric wires W are provided inside of a housing. A rear assembly is assembled at the rear of the housing. The rear assembly includes a cover formed of a quality of material having no elasticity and a waterproof member formed of a quality of material having elasticity. The waterproof member further includes a wire seal part that surrounds and waterproofs electric wires, and a housing seal part that seals between the two housings. A clearance is provided about a periphery between the outer peripheral face of the wire seal part and the housing seal part. Even if the material of the wire seal part is deformed during the insertion operation of the electric wires, the insertion operation of the electric wires can be smoothly carried out to the last wire because the clearance absorbs the deformation of the entire wire seal part.

摘要： A connector has a housing (2) with cavities (4) for accommodating both crimping and insulation-displacement terminal fittings (5, 6). Locks (15) extend into the cavities (4) to elastically engage the terminal fittings (5, 6). A retainer mount opening (17) extends through an outer wall of the housing (2) and communicates with the cavities (4), and a retainer (3) is mounted in the opening (17) for doubly locking the terminal fittings (5, 6). Connecting portions (8) of the same shape are provided at the front of the terminal fittings (5, 6). The height of insulation-displacement portions (7) is shorter than that of the connecting portion (8) in the insulation-displacement terminal fitting (5), and terminal locks (18) of the retainer (3) engage with steps (8A) at the rear of the connecting portions (8). The retainer (3) can be pushed to a full locking position after the terminal fittings (5, 6) are mounted with the housing (2) to redundantly lock the terminal fittings (5, 6) in the cavities (4).

The slanted surfaces (38A) engage an opening-end surface (57A) of a mating connector (50) to guide the retainer (34) into a proper position if the auxiliary connectors (60) are inserted to proper positions. However the vertical wall (39A) contacts the opening-end surface (57A) if the auxiliary connectors (60) are not pushed to the proper positions. Thus, the fitting operation cannot be completed and the improperly inserted auxiliary connector (60) is detected.

The terminal cap (10) is mounted to cover a battery terminal (T) to be connected with one of electrodes of a 32V-battery. The terminal cap (10) has protection walls (20) that extend from a first accommodating portion (11a) for accommodating a connecting portion (7) of the battery terminal (T). The protection walls (20) are formed to be higher than a threaded shaft (1) of the electrode. Thus, even if an attempt is made to erroneously connect a booster cable, the protection walls (20) will interfere with the booster cable and prevent connection with the electrode located inside the protection walls (20).
