    • PURPOSE:To produce a metallic composite material contg. a solid lubricant which has excellent mechanical strength and homogeneous quality, by mixing metallic powder of a base material and powder of the solid lubricant, molding the mixture by compaction, sealing and heating the molding in a hermetic die, and melting the metallic powder of the base material then cooling the same quickly. CONSTITUTION:Powder A1 of a substantially uniformly mixed raw material consisting essentially of metallic powder of a base material and powder of a solid lubricant and added with an additive assistant according to need is packed in a press die 2 in a vacuum atmosphere created by a vacuum pump P in a hermetic vessel consisting preferably of a base plate 1 and a vessel body 3, and a press rod 6 is moved downward to mold the powder by compaction, whereby a molding A2 is obtained. The molding A2 is fitted and sealed with substantially no spacing in the cavity 12 of a hermetic die 11 which is tightened by sandwiching a middle die plate 13 between upper and lower cover plates 14, 15 by means of bolts 16. The assembly is put in a high temp. furnace and is heated. The metallic powder of the base material melts and before the powder of the solid lubricant floats and moves, the die 11 is charged into water and is cooled quickly, whereby the desired composite material A is obtained.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new artificial synovia replacing sodium hyaluronate.
      SOLUTION: This artificial synovia comprises dipalmitoylphosphatidylcholine(DPPC) and fibronectin(FN). Both DPPC and FN form films on the surfaces of joint cartilages in a joint and a cluster of sodium hyaluronate in the synovia of the joint exists in a nipped state between the films of DPPC and FN. By the structure, the artificial synovia which sufficiently protects the surface of the joint in the action of the joint and extremely reduces a longitudinal vibration occurring in a contact or a sliding of cartilages with each other may contain sodium hyaluronate.
