    • An ink cartridge assembly and an inkjet image forming apparatus having the same include a first ink cartridge and a second ink cartridge. The first ink cartridge has a shuttle type printhead to eject ink to form an image on a printing medium while reciprocating to the width direction of the printing medium at a printing position, and the second ink cartridge has an array type printhead to eject ink to form the image on the printing medium at the printing position in a stationary state. The first and second ink cartridges share the printing position. When the second ink cartridge is positioned on the printing position, the first ink cartridge is positioned at the first escape position and when the first ink cartridge is positioned on the printing position, the second ink cartridge is positioned at the second escape position away from the printing position and the first escape position.

    • A pump for an inkjet printer applying a negative pressure to an inkjet head nozzle, includes: a tube connected to the inkjet head nozzle and being U-shaped; a plurality of rollers which contact an inner arch of the tube and having a tapered shape; and a rotor to which the plurality of rollers are rotatably mounted. When the rotor rotates in a direction, at least one of the plurality of rollers rotate and squeeze the tube. When the rotor stops rotating, the plurality of rollers return to a state in which the plurality of rollers do not squeeze the tube due to a recovering force of the tube. The squeezing of the tube generates the negative pressure in the inkjet head nozzle.

    • An inkjet image forming apparatus including an exposure time of ink attached to nozzles is determined considering various factors including a capping/uncapping time of a print head, a time interval of a powering operation, and a time interval of a printing operation, and then a washing mode to be performed is selected out of a plurality of washing modes with different washing methods in accordance with the exposure time of the ink. Therefore, washing of a print head can be performed more efficiently depending on a condition of ink attached to the nozzles. In addition, a viscosity of the attached ink can be weakened by heating the print head while performing the washing mode. Especially, when washing the print head by an ultrasonic washing mode, a washing energy can be concentrated on a removal of the ink, thereby improving washing efficiency.

    • A registration device includes a feed roller which presses one surface of a sheet to feed the sheet. A cartridge unit is placed opposite to the feed roller and includes a follower roller to support the other surface of the sheet. An image forming unit forms an image on the sheet and a regulating element rotates the cartridge unit relative to the feed roller so that an arranged sheet can be fed into the image forming unit. The registration device can regulate the parallel degree between the cartridge unit and the feed roller in the process of assembling the image forming apparatus to prevent the skew of the sheet.

    • An apparatus for and method of preventing paper double feeding in a paper feeding unit of a printer include a stripper which is installed to be inclined at a predetermined angle and attached to at least one front side of a plurality of paper guides, a lever which is installed at a rear side of the stripper and has a contact surface with paper transferred by a pickup roller, and a lever shaking unit which shakes the lever so that the contact surface intermittently contacts a back side of the paper transferred by the pickup roller. The method includes applying a first paper feeding resistance force to a first sheet of paper which is picked-up by the pickup roller and transferred into the printer, and intermittently applying a second paper feeding resistance to a rear side of a second sheet of paper.
