    • A barcode scanner capable of switching the reading resolution of scanning can be used for scanning a barcode with high resolution or low resolution, including a shell body, a scan module and a switchable magnifying module. The shell body has an opening. The scan module arranged in the shell body has a lighting unit emitting an illuminating light onto the barcode through the opening and a sensing unit sensing a barcode image formed from a reflection of the barcode illuminated by the illuminating light passing through the opening. The switchable magnifying module has a magnifier for magnifying the barcode image and a switch unit for switching the position of the magnifier relative to the sensing unit. The switch unit can move the magnifier between an off-axial position, which is not between the sensing unit and the barcode, and an on-axial position, which is between the sensing unit and the barcode.

    • A barcode scanner includes at least a laser emitter, a collimator, a light condensing lens and a linear light receiver. When the scanning light beams from the laser emitter are projected onto a barcode through the collimator, a barcode signal is produced from the reflected image thereof focused onto the linear light receiver through the light condensing lens. The characteristics thereof are that at least one beam splitter and reflector are disposed at the projecting path of the scanning light beams from the laser emitter and the collimator to barcode, so as to enable the scanner to act as a multiple light sources structure, thereby distributing the scanning light beams more evenly with lower production cost and material.

    • A light source mechanism of a barcode scanner includes a laser diode as the point type light source, a collimating lens and a standing cylindrical lens in front of the laser diode. A mirror or a thin-film coating prism can be installed in front of the collimating lens to have the light beam from the collimating lens be reflected at least once to go out in horizontal direction. The reflected light beam from barcode passes through a condensing lens and is received by a linear receiver (CCD or CMOS sensor, for example) and is converted into electrical signals, and decoded by a circuit to get the data.

    • An optical switch structure of a barcode scanner having a casing includes a wheel center fixedly mounted on an axle and partially protruding out of the scanner casing as a rotated switch, a light shield provided on the wheel or mounted on the axle linked to the wheel, the light shield having a plurality of radial slots, and a U-shaped photo interrupter having two upwardly extending arms with a photodiode light emitter and a phototransistor light receiver inside disposed on either arm, the U-shaped photo interrupter being installed under the light shield so that the photodiode light emitter is disposed at one side of the light shield and the phototransistor light receiver is disposed at the opposite side of the light shield, whereby when the wheel is rotated, the light shield will be rotated simultaneously thereby intermittently blocking light transmitting from the photodiode light emitter to the phototransistor light receiver and therefore converting light signals into pulse signals to turn on the barcode scanner.

A reflector means can be provided for overlapping the light path to reduce the size of the barcode scanner. Further, a shaking means may be used to cause reciprocation of the light beam in direction perpendicular to the light path of the light source, thereby eliminating image noises due to existence of black holes.

    • The present invention relates to a full range bar code scanner primarily comprising a scanner housing inside of which a light source, a lens set and a CCD-sensing device are mounted. The light source emits light to reflect upon a bar code in front thereof. Thereafter, the created reflection rays are focused after passing through the lens set so that the image of the bar code is formed on the CCD-sensing device and converted into digital data for use after being read by the CCD-sensing device and decoded by an electrical circuit. This improvement is characterized in that a spectroscope is mounted at the path of the reflection rays in front of the lens set. One side of the spectroscope opposite to the lens set is constructed as reflection face with reflection effect. At least one secondary reflector is installed near the spectroscope. By means of the spectroscope and the secondary reflector, the image of the bar code within a short distance reflects upon two lens in order to prolong the false light travel for reaching a focusing of a long distance and the range of the depth of focus. Thus, the image of the bar code is formed on the CCD-sensing device after passing through the lens set. Accordingly, a bar code scanner with a full scanning range for bar codes at a short or long distance is attainable.
