摘要： A method of creating a concrete surface pattern finish on the surface of a concrete structure, for forming an exquisite pattern, design, etc. suitable to the surrounding environment and the intended purpose, including shortening the working time by building a structure with a desired decoration produced on its surface simultaneously with the removal of the form used for the placement of the concrete, and producing a decoration by post-working of the surface of an existing concrete structure. A transfer sheet prepared by prelaminating, in a releasable manner, a transfer layer having a prescribed pattern, design or the like, printed onto one side of a base material, is laid on or attached to the surface of a concreteplacing form, with the printed side facing the concrete-placing side, and then an adhesive is applied onto the transfer layer side and the transfer layer is transferred to the surface of the concrete at the time of removal of the form after the concrete is placed and cured in the form. Furthermore, an adhesive is applied to either side or both sides of the surface of existing concrete and the surface of the transfer layer of a transfer sheet and the transfer layer is pressed facing the surface of the concrete for contact bonding, and the adhesive layer is allowed to set, after which the substrate of the transfer sheet is released to transfer the transfer layer onto the surface of the concrete.

摘要： A method of making the surface of a base material ultrahydrophilic which comprises the step of coating the surface with a layer containing photocatalytic semiconductor material such as titania and the step of photoexciting the photocatalytic material to adjust the angle of contact of the surface of the above layer with water to about 10 DEG or less. When this method is applied to the surface of a base material such as mirror, lens or windowpane, the growth of waterdrops is prevented and the base material becomes highly antifogging. The articles treated by this method do not undergo any deposition of contaminants on the surfaces thereof and are readily cleaned by rainfall or washing with water.

摘要： A method of treating with a photocatalyst the air in a bacteria-contaminated patient's room and a malodorous substance-floating room. A film of an optical catalyst consisting of a semiconductor, such as titanium dioxide is set on the inner surface of a wall of a patient's room or a dwelling room. The photocatalyst film is irradiated with the light from a general illuminating light source, such as a fluorescent lamp, and optically excited with a small quantity of ultraviolet rays contained in the light from the fluorescent lamp. The wattage of the fluorescent lamp and the distance between the photocatalyst film and fluorescent lamp are selectively determined so that the intensity of the ultraviolet rays the energy of which is not less than the band gap energy of the photocatalyst becomes 0.001-1 mW/cm , preferably 0.01-0.1 mW/cm . The bacteria and chemical compounds deposited on the optically excited film are photodecomposed.

摘要： A process of making the surface of a substrate hydrophilic by photocatalysis. A substrate is covered with a photocatalytic titania coating (10) which carries on its surface a solid acid increasing the hydrogen bond component ( gamma s ) of the surface energy at the solid-liquid boundary. On photoexcitation of the photocatalyst, the hydrogen bond component ( gamma s ) is increased by photocatalysis to thereby accelerate the physical adsorption of atmospheric water molecules on the hydrogen atoms of terminal OH groups (12) bonded to titanium atoms present on the surface and bridging OH groups (14) through hydrogen bonds (16). As a result of the adsorption, a high-density physically adsorbed water layer (18) is formed on the surface of the photocatalytic coating (10) to thereby facilitate making the surface hydrophilic. This process is effective in the protection of articles from fogging or staining and the (self)cleaning of articles.
